Kudos to the Devs

I feel like this year more than any other, there's a lot of negativity toward the developers of the game on this board. Probably a byproduct of everyone having been cooped up for so long.

I just wanted to thank the developers for a job well done as always. I'm a veteran of OOTP, with my first version being OOTP12. The game has just continued to improve while maintaining the same level of depth that it's always been known for. Their level of visibility and accessibility on these boards is something that you don't see very often. If you have a problem, they do their best to try to help. If there's a problem with the game, they almost always immediately patch it.

Just wanted to make sure that they know there is a large population of folks who absolutely love the game and greatly appreciate their hard work and efforts to produce such a quality affordable game.

I'd like to second that.

I'd also agree with that. I'd like to add that I think OOTP is starting to pull customers from other baseball games in, and they're used to a different style of play, interface, expectations, etc.

I look back at my first Mac version (2006), which I dearly loved...and the progress that's been made is staggering. We're light years from that.

Most forum posters still give Kudos to the devs while being critical of a product they purchase year in and out. As long as someone is critical and not directly bashing the devs personally then it has the potential to improve the game if enough people all feel the same way about certain issues.

As someone who has only been regularly involved since OOTPb 18 I honestly haven't seen a huge improvement in over 4 versions with 21 being the most current.

It sells for as much as AAA video games do. And if it is going to have a yearly update cycle then it needs to "bring the goods" and in many eyes it certainly does not. It has slight improvements from year to year but there honestly is not 1 killer new feature that comes out with each version.

Yes Perfect Team was a huge success and if OOTP Go ever launches I'm sure that will be huge success.

I am in favor of being critical of OOTPb as a video game but certainly not in favor of any direct personal attacks on the devs. Those 2 things aren't related. And I usually don't see long time forum members bashing the devs. They might be critical of the game or bash the game but that is far off from personal attacks.

You know you're old when you cringe each and every time you see OOTP referred to as a video game.

I have been with Markus and gang since 2003 and the game gets better every year, i think people pushing for graphics don't realize it takes time away from working on other issues. This is a small company and i know Markus wants to give us the best game possible. Remember this was his dream for years, i think the release goes pretty smooth now compared to the early days...Keep it up Markus and gang....Just a fanboy i guess
