Historical Commissioner Mode?

Hello! Long time follower of this game since its first inception. I am thinking of purchasing FHM 6, however I did have a question.

It's been a lifelong dream of mine to play a game with full historical commissioner control, that being the ability to make all transactions/accurate roster moves going back to 1917-18, and also incorporating WHA in the 70s. Is this possible with FHM 6?

Does this include franchise expansion/relocations/foldings in the game as you progress through the years?

Also, Is it possible to play WHA at the same time as NHL, or does it have to be one or the other?

Thanks!

Franchises will, by default, move/fold at the times they did historically (aside from mid-season foldings and moves, those wait until the end of the year.)

To do all the transactions manually in commissioner mode, you would need to start a multiplayer ("online") game with you in control of every team so they won't make their own moves. There's no mode as in OOTP where the transactions will be made automatically for you.

You could play as both an NHL and WHA team in a multiplayer game, otherwise no, you can only control one team in a normal game.

Thanks Jeff, when you say multiplayer "Online", its literally just me playing correct? If I am making all of the transactions and controlling all of the teams, what is the online component?

I think the idea is that the game-mode allows online play, but theoretically, you could be the only player controlling all the teams, and thus there would be no online component.

Yes, with "online" play you can be every teams GMs. You just have to to switch "users" (or rather, switch to another team) to do anything with that team. IIRC there is a menu to easily do that.
Each team also has an AI assitant thatcan be set to do tasks for you. (Set training, move players to minors, siogn free agents, etc...) You can turn each of these on or off as you wish.

It will auto do it, unless you turn off Historical Evolution, in which case the way the leagues are, they will stay. So if you do this during the WHA years for instance, the WHA will never go away and there will never be a merger.

You should be able to add or subtract leagues
