Would you rather...
... leave a pitcher in for another batter even though he's drained or bring in a reliever that isn't warmed up yet?
Let's assume the game is on the line. Runners in scoring position, tied score, late in the game. |

either yank or spam throw to 1st until the RP is warmed up

I've tried the spam throw to first and it gave me a balk the third time, so I haven't done it since. Is this not typical?
As for the OP, in my experience you're screwed either way but I'd probably go with the reliever. |

tbf, you're risking an error any time you try to spam throw to 1st, so uh, buyer beware on that one
