What traits are most important for Trainers?
Hello all,
My team trainer just retired (he's only the 2nd one I've had in 22 years) and I'm not looking for a replacement. All of the available trainers have some areas where they excel (Legendary) and others where they are Average or Fair. To be honest, it seems like a pretty accurate breakdown of skills. Before hiring someone, I wanted to get opinions on what area or areas are most important, or what can somewhat be ignored. My initial thought was to get someone who is good across the board with prevention and not worry as much about recovery. Or I can try to find someone that is average-or-better at almost everything, but not excellent or legendary at anything. |

I put the highest priority on preventing injuries to pitchers. Anything else that a trainer can do is gravy.

1. pitching 2. legs 3. everything else After that you find a trainer that covers as much as possible at as high a level as you can afford. If you're small market you may have to make some concessions, if you're a large market team, just don't. My experience is the great trainers are worth every dime you spend on them. |

After about 6 seasons full universe there are basically no trainers in my world. If my guy retires it'll be awful. I'll prob have to create some new ones from the function commands.

I always focus on arms, & work backward from there.
My guy is legendary on prevent arms & excellent on heal arms. Excellent/Outstanding/ Great in the other categories. |

Trainers dont help .. ive had seasons with no major injuries with trainers with no experience, and ive had multiple bad injury seasons with trainers with legendary status .. i believe its all just cosmetic .. same goes with coaching staff .. at least in my experience, i just hire whoever .. so far, im in year 2039 and ive won 8 world series and only 5 seasons where i didnt make the playoffs with the white sox .. only lucas giolito is the lone injury prone player ive had so far, but it seems, everyone has an issue with giolito, so its non trainer related ..
