2 Gameplay Questions
I've been playing OOTP for a few years and the following 2 things have never happened until yesterday:
1. I was playing against the Phillies and Jake Arrieta threw over to 1st base 4 times and all 4 were pickoff's. Is he just that good? Are my runners just that bad? Is there a setting I can check or is does someone think it's some type of bug. 2. The other issue came when I was presented with the dialog box to make the choice if I wanted a runner to try and advance a base on a hit to the outfield, both time it happened with 2 outs in the inning. If I selected "Yes" the game just automatically cut to the next half inning with no explanation as to the runner being thrown out. If I selected "No" the inning continued as normal. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated. |

Need more information Is this happening all the time in your game? I'm not sure if the game tracks pickoffs for pitchers, but if so you should check that. I think it tracks SB/CS for pitchers. You can look at that. Since no one else has mentioned it, and you've only, apparently, seen it once. It's probably just one of those rare things. Thousands of people are playing tens or hundreds of thousands of seasons. Some weird stuff is going to happen sometimes. |

The second issue is a long time bug. Happens to me almost every time.

As far as the first one, I feel like my guys get picked off rather frequently, but I think it's just that the game doesn't show you pickoff attempts, at least from the pitcher, unless they're successful. 4 in a game is still weird but probably just a random weird thing happening. |

I’ve never had #2 happen. Is this in pitch-by-pitch or one-pitch?

1) If you are playing in one-pitch mode, the only time you see a pickoff throw by the AI is when the runner is actually out. The pitcher may actually throw over many more times than what you see, but if a throw does not result in an out, they are considered are non-plays they do not interrupt the game (like foul balls). Four pickoffs in one game is a lot, but not outside of realistic boundaries. And for #2, as mars001 mentions, it happens fairly frequently. You can always replay the PbP and see what occurred if you want. |

Thanks for the replies.
I haven't had the pickoff issue again, I guess Arrieta was just on that game. As for the second issue I only had one other opportunity to try it out and it was too risky to take a chance so I played it safe. And for those asking I'm playing one pitch. |

Yup I have #2 happen every now and then. No idea why it happens. Usually quitting the game and relaunching it fixes it. Some kind of glitch. And I don't even play out that many games a season and I've seen it frequently enough.
