What to do with 11,000 PP
I have been reading posts over and over again, and feel conflicted on what to do with my points. I will not buy packs, as its too risky for me, I would like some control. However, from there, I am at a loss. Do I try and complete missions? Should I be looking for great value cards that I can use for a while and flip for a profit? Should I just be buying the best 11,000 PP card I can get and keep saving up? I feel like there are so many ways to use the PP, but I can't decide what is best for me. My team now is all gold cards, I am in stone, second in the league (the league leader is all diamond + and is 80-4 right now). I like to play in the gold tournaments, but only really have luck in the 8 team tournaments. I am not sure if any of this helps, just looking for some advice to maximize my PP! Thanks!

I'd say for 11k, your best bet is completing one or more of the live collections. 11k would go a long way toward completing the Houston collection for a 97 Bagwell, which is likely better than anything you could buy off the ah for that amount. Then the other AL west collections cost much less to complete and you can go for that Ichiro + a gold pack.

I'm about to drop a Jeff Mathis on the AH for 11k. He can be all yours!

I would just buy the 11 packs and pray... Then when (not if) you get nothing of value; i would go yell at myself in the mirror for an hour or so. Then do it again in 2 weeks praying for a different outcome! |

I go back and forth. I think, once I get to a certain level, for instance my Thunder team, basically a Diamond Rotation and starting lineup, I go back to ripping packs. Its the only way I'll ever get the kind of cards that would be an upgrade. My other two teams, I'm still working the AH (both as a buyer and seller). I don't really mess with the missions too much there, which is probably a mistake, but I feel like, been there; done that with the Thunder. That's the only thing I'm still doing in the AH with the Thunder....Missions. But, honestly, to each his own. I'm transitioning the other two teams to THEMES. All Indians. and an era team from my childhood.

The suggestion to complete Houston for Bagwell and AL West for Suzuki and a gold pack is the best idea of all. You can complete Houston TODAY for far less than 11K then you could sell Bagwell for 16K later on. (Hold your nose while paying 400+ for Devenski.)

I moved into stone this week. My team ran away with the Rookie League, and looks to be on the same path in the stone league. At the start of the season, (Monday, lol) I decided I was not spending any PP until the All Star game and make a decision then. The team is still flying, it's August, and I have accumulated approx 14-17k PP. Im going to keep saving until such time as I need to "whale up" a bit, hopefully not a for a few more seasons though. I wanna hit the higher levels with massive PP to spend, mwaahaa...

I would definitely go for the Astros missions however if that is not your cup of tea I would focus on getting 3 or so Gold non-live pitchers. That can also get you some PP throughout the season to stock up on other areas.

There's a chance I'm misunderstanding this. Can you have three perfect teams while only owning one copy of the game? New here myself...

A few things
I agree that PP in hand are too valuable to rip packs. You can get packs from participating in tourneys and challenge mode on Regular OOTP (1 every 3 days from that). If you arent doing so, start getting into tournaments. Capped (Live) tourneys and Iron are probably the best for a new-ish team. You get enough packs to scratch the itch and you WILL get some diamonds who will be contributors and certainly gold players. You will start to get doubles and can flip them for more PP. As mentioned, the best thing to do is to take your time and PP and start attacking some of the Live Missions. PP is limited so take your time and get some good buys. Try to find the Irons ending soon at 5 PP and Bronze at 25 PP. Should never pay more than the 7 day average. The Astros probably give you the best singular prize in Bagwell, and Ichiro for the AL West is Dynamite. Also, start playing Iron tourneys. Pay attention to the players the winners have, especially the bigger tournaments that have fields like 64 and 128 teams. You will notice quite a few common denominator players. Use some PP to acquire those and build an Iron team who can earn you 5-12 packs a day (and possibly hit in a Daily or Weekly for even more.

Just an FYI...while the Bagwell card can be a monster...he was for me in the Rookie and Stone leagues.....he has been at the best mediocre in Iron and is currently stroking a whopping .278 with a paltry 23 dingers in Bronze.. I found I got a much better return in the Ichiro card for sure. Lots of O-fers with Bagwell....you really won't see that many with Ichiro.
Or you could drop 10K on a Historical Pack and really beat your head against the wall when they come up trash lol

Get a real good diamond level non-live starting pitcher with decent movement of over 82 and decent control. i.e. Blyleven, Lyons or Joe Nierkro
Or buy a decent power hitter (over 100 power) against Righties with a contact rating over 90 against righties as well. i.e. Billy Williams or Chuck Klein type
