So now it freezes after a solo home run as the runner is halfway between 3rd and home. Has happened 2 times.

Now that I think of it.. every time it freezes is during a play when the camera is panning and zooming. Maybe I will turn those off for awhile and see what happens. I mean, this is a brand new computer that I have only had for a week.. the drivers and such should be updated. No?

Putting the crowd on lowest possible and turning off the zoom camera has allowed me to play 6 or 7 games in both of my leagues with no problems. I was even daring enough to use full screen without a problem. But.. during one game I saved and left in the 4th inning and surfed the internet for a few minutes. When I went back into OOTP a few minutes later my full screen was off center and the game was unplayable. I used task manager to exit and restarted in windowed mode and can play again. Not a computer guy so I don't know why going to websites during a game messed up the screen.

Game crashes at first when running reports, now during game play

I have an on-line league from the 1985 season, has been in existence since version 16 I think and we are now in the 2007 season. With the new upgrade, it gets to report 385 I think when generating HTML reports and then crashes. Game play was fine during the off-season, but now that we hit Spring Training and there is game play, it crashes as soon as I start the Real Time Sim or even if I use Finish Today. Has anyone seen this before? In another league I am a GM in, same issues. Both leagues have a long time history. Thanks and please help! Hate to see years of playing go poof or have to go back to using version 20.

I'm playing OOTP 21 through the steam client and have simulated to 2056. The game now crashes any time I auto-play with any of the available options, hit "Finish Today!" from the play menu, or hit the green Continue button in the top right.

This happens 100% of the time UNLESS I manually quick play each individual game in each individual major and minor league. If I do that and hit Continue or Finish Today! there's no crash. However, if I then try and do it a second time without again simulating each game individually it crashes 100% of the time.

Any ideas on what's causing the crash and if it's fixable?

I'm playing OOTP21 on a Skull Canyon NUC (8th Gen i7-8809G with Radeon RX Vega M GH graphics), all drivers updated, windowed taking up MOST of the space on my 3440x1440 ultra-wide monitor.

I'm getting CONSTANT white screens of death (playing Perfect Teams). Wasn't happening much, except after the playoffs were over, before and during the Monday morning promotions/relegations.

Now, this week (or at least since late Saturday) it's happening at random intervals. Sometimes I have to use the Task Manager to stop it and restart. Rebooting doesn't seem to help much, if at all and NOTHING else is having any trouble

Since the game takes SO long to start up and the fact that there's a game going on every half hour, this is really starting to get annoying.

What can or should I do?

Same issue is happening to me. I cannot sim ahead without crashing.

Where exactly does your game crash? What are you doing just before it crashes? Can you consistently get the crash to repeat by doing the same thing or is it seemingly random? Do you get an error message? If so, what?
Crashes near end of team logo lookup following a template load.

Does this crash in only one saved game or in multiple saves? If only one, then we'll need to see your league files as per the instructions here (or you can just upload to Dropbox/Google Drive and post a link)

I'm now in year three of my OOTP league in a third file. In the first season? No issues! Simmed quickly and lovely. No problems. No issues. However, the second season begins and all of a sudden the simulation gets borked in late August. From this point through the end of the regular season, the simulation takes 20-25 minutes to get through, "freezing" for a few mins between what feels like every game. It will then re-start, sim a game or two and then right back to frozen. Screen goes that glossy "frozen" white, mouse gives me the "loading" message. Can't click or do anything. Then...right back to normal for 30 second moment...then frozen for 3-5 mins again. The April-late August takes ~5 minutes in relationship. This is currently happening now in season 3 again. Same time in the year it's occurring. This has not happened in previous versions of OOTP (I have 20 and 18).

I have even gone as far as factory re-setting my computer. I've updated all drivers. I've made sure it's not saving a single box score. Not simming 3d games; just a standard "sim until next week" prompt. No baseball cards, either. The laptop I'm on is well above any recommended settings. Not sure what to do any more, because I want to play the game, but this is making it nearly unplayable and it drags my computer's speeds down with it. Siming different amounts of time does not solve the issue, either.

1. I have a PC
2. I'm running Windows 10
3. Playing on steam
4. Not on a Mac
5. I have 12 GB of RAM, a NVIDIA 940 MX, with 2GB dedicated to video
6. It's not necessarily "crashing". It's just bogging way down. I can't get it to fully crash. Only freeze, not-respond and then pop back up for a minute to sim another game. I'm trying very hard to get it to crash but it won't go.
7. It has happened over every single file I've played. Pre-factory reset and after.
8. I can't get a good tracemode crash as the issue isn't crash related...it's sim speed related. I wish I could be of more help there.

If anyone has suggestions I'd love to hear them. I want to love this game as I love OOTP and have bought the game, basically, yearly for a decade.

I am beyond aggravated with the issues trying to SAVE GAME.
Am in my 3rd. season as the Mets GM/manager. The game won't save.
I was emailing with a developer last week but no info since.
This happened right after an update on STEAM.
I get this message
save_database_could not save database OOTP tries to roll back the transaction
The status bar stops at 9%
Last message stated successfully restored the database files. Files not saved.
Also stated ….check disk space and league folder.

I am not computer savvy and this is becoming a waste of money.

Do I delete and re-install ? I don't have my license key.

I've found a fix for this, but it does not solve the problem. The league_home_page is what is causing the issue. I went through each report one by one to see which one was causing the freeze and crash. When the Create Reports is running, it usually freezes and then crashes around report 400 at the top but really not consistent. Sometimes it says 371, other times 415 for instance. But definitely is the league_home_page as this has fixed the issue of the crash in other leagues besides my own. Neither of the two recent patches have fixed the issue and I've had to leave the league_home_page deselected, which means the main league page has old information. All of the other pages have updated correctly. Hope we can get this resolved and thank you!

Not simming 3d games; just a standard "sim until next week" prompt. No baseball cards, either. The laptop I'm on is well above any recommended settings. Not sure what to do any more, because I want to play the game, but this is making it nearly unplayable and it drags my computer's speeds down with it. Siming different amounts of time does not solve the issue, either. Not blaming or whining, just want things to work.

6. It's not necessarily "crashing". It's just bogging way down. I can't get it to fully crash. Only freeze, not-respond and then pop back up for a minute to sim another game. I'm trying very hard to get it to crash but it won't go.
7. It has happened over every single file I've played. Pre-factory reset and after.
8. I can't get a good tracemode crash as the issue isn't crash related...it's sim speed related. I wish I could be of more help there.

If anyone has suggestions I'd love to hear them. I want to love this game as I love OOTP and have bought the game, basically, yearly for a decade.
I have simmed now for 3 more years. The same thing is happening at the same time. Last week of August and the sim continues to come to a crawl no matter what I've tried. The first week runs quick, but by September 12-14th, the game is simming a single game every 2-3 minutes with freezing between each game. You can't even back out and stop the sim as the game is frozen and won't register esc presses. I'm getting frustrated as it really makes the game a very difficult and tedious play during what should be the most tense times; the end of the season.

Here is an image of what occurs. It will stay like this for 2-4, sometimes 5 minutes between games once September hits. This one is after the W.S. and is lasting 10+ minutes this time. Mouse is simply spinning "loading" the entire time

OOTP21 Crashes While Building Almanac

I have tried to submit a support ticket, but when I click on the link I get a 'Page Not Found' with this:

So, I uploaded the .DAT files in a zip file called "Almanac_Creation_Crashes_OOTP21.zip", but I will check back to see if the submit ticket page re-appears.


CRASH INFORMATION:
I am on December 31, 1987, of a historical franchise which I started in 1981. When I try to advance, it immediately starts making my seasonal almanac with everything checked in the Edit Profile. It says Major League Baseball and has some sort of counter that increases right next to it. It seems that it always crashes as soon as the very first Minor League name replaces Major League Baseball. I've tried to shut off all Minor League teams in the Almanac > Edit Profile but it still brings up American Association. No matter what I try, it crashes OOTP.

HELP- Game Won't Start

Hey,
I have no clue if this is even under the right thread but my game won't open. I had OOTP 21 on another computer and I believe I deleted it; however, I'm not sure. Anyways, I'm trying to download it and play it on another computer and it is not working. I've downloaded the game via Steam, and I have all the files. However, when I click on the game itself, it opens but stays at the blue screen prior to showing the "OOTP 21" logo and the MLB teams. I've tried a bunch of things, such as deleting and reinstalling the game, restarting the computer, and a bunch of other things. Please help ASAP cuz I love the game and want to play again!!!

I'm not affiliated with OOTP at all. So, don't think of this as an official response... Anyway, I'm fairly certain you actually have to contact Steam for problems like this. I might be wrong, but if you're still having problems I don't think it would hurt to contact Steam Support. Good luck!
