lost 5 months! what happened to my save?

I save after a while each time i play and definitely right before a big change like when I needed to change the league settings. I know I've saved today. The game crashed so I restarted it after a few minutes and it's back in April. I was in September. Even assuming I hadn't saved for a little while I should still have advanced past April. I looked around in the league save folders and the latest save is last night. What happened to todays saves? Is there another place to look?

do you happen to have a back-up file from the missing time? that would be the only solution i know of ....

trying but i think that was before last night. ugh. is there a save as function so I can save this one and see if I find the other? it's really frustrating. not sure what happened.
