AI performs no trades all year.

So I'm simming a custom league right now, and in the first year, I've noticed an odd thing. AI GM's dont' perform transactions. Like at all. There were no trades, or FA signings during the whole year. Even when I had a team lose seven players to injury, they didn't' bother to sign anyone; just plotted along with a reduced roster.

Could I have something misconfigured? It's a fictional league, not historical. All teams are in the green financially. i dont' have minor leagues, but there is a reserve roster. Can't think of anything else that would be at fault here, so wondered if anyone else might have ran into this and knows of a solution.

The obvious being check the trade levels - set to very low?

Financials are turned on? Do you have reserve clause active? There are a bunch of settings.

I turn AI trading to very high (modern MLB setup), and consistently see 0 trades at the deadline and very few all season long. When the highest setting is a tiny fraction of what it should be, something is amiss.

I haven’t experienced this. I get a good amount of activity around the deadline on “Average” trade frequency.

Trade levels are set to Average for AI trading.

FInancials are on. Reserve clause is also on. Reserve roster is set to 15 if that helps.

Reserve clause doesn't allow free agency.

It is also probably having effect on overall trades. And not having minor leagues also effects overall trading. As there are less prospects to trade around. Reserve clause no free agency and no arbitration. A lot less incentive for teams to trade. Then it kind of depends on teams budget. Budget usually dictates trades. Big market vs small market etc. Because those teams can't hold onto their players. With reserve on. Those teams don't have that problem.

I would take that off during off season. Generate fictional contracts for all players and then fictional budgets for all teams. If no minors I would probably crank up reserve roster somewhat as well. There will be free agency and trades after all of that. Not as many as a default fictional or modern mlb setup. But in a couple of years it should start to grow

That's annoying that the reserve roster would affect it considering that would affect historical leagues pretty hadly. I dont think the budget would affect it, as every team was well in the green.

Reserve clause is what's effecting it the most. Not reserve roster. I was just saying I think 15 on reserve roster is small
