Paragon City Heroes 52-52, sold Justice, he wasn't cutting it, moved Furillo back to a full time role. Replaced my 5th starter Bill Doak with Jack Powell.
San Angeles 70s 62-42, going 1-5 against the division leaders has put paid my chances of the division, which were slim given his roster. We should be able to secure the wildcard being 4 1/2 games up. Willie Wilson, Jim Sundberg, Boog Powell, Jon Matlack and Tony Perez made all star appearances, Sundberg was surprising considering his low offensive output. Lowdown Lugnuts 45-64 have moved off the bottom of the league, and are 5 games back of getting out the relegation zone, but only 8 games back of the promotion places with it being a 24 team league. I decided against the theme i was going to go with and have just tried to go with a fairly balanced team with a bit of everything. Bay City Boomers 79-26 10 all stars and a 28 run win with a 15 run inning helped us earn an impressive 12340 PP so i decided to splash out a bit on a great defensive SS in Art Fletcher, he has a very odd hitting profile low contact/eye. high power/avoid k, so i don't expect a lot with the bat from him, currently on an 11 game winning streak, every other win streak this season has ended on bronze but there's always a chance

Collingwood bent, but so far has not broken. Magic number is 12 and the lead is back up to 10 games. The Peach Kings were an undistinguished .500 team at the end of June, but has had an influx of big-time cash and can now be counted on to crush the Magpies in the postseason and then to be crushed by the Fury.
Hamtramck has gone off the rails. I was stuck for something to do with Collingwood. I don't see a good plan, but to win packs and hope roast duck flies in. No collections worth doing, no cards available worth flipping. So, I decided to do live missions for Hamtramck. It's impossible on a budget like the Tiger's without flipping cards which I just won't do again. (Takes away from Collingwood's opportunitiesThe Tigers are just above .500 which looks to be good enough for promotion to gold where it is unlikely to stay, so I'm not going to work on it anymore. D359: What's the Right Word for the AC West Division Race?
I mean, Huntley's D359 AC West is not exactly a compelling race, but it is definitely a race of some sort!

Meanwhile, Collingwood clinches it's division with a pair of wins against the team in 2nd place, Hometown. The Magpies were 11 games ahead at the all-star break, and today are 11 games ahead again after posting an undistinguished mark of 40-37 since that exhibition game. Nevertheless, I reach my goal of Phase 1--get to Diamond league. Phase 2 is to collect diamond league data to find out which players work and which don't. If anyone wants to send me their diamond league data please message me. I will combine the data and send you the results. |

This looks like the week where all of my FTP teams hit the wall. The best of them started out strong in Bronze before everyone forgot how to hit.

A VERY pleasant surprise... Bought Joe Nathan earlier this season (Silver League) and since then, he had 30 saves and still haven't given up a run in 37 IP!

So after the 25-6 start, followed by the 8-20 slump that dropped us to second place in the division, the White Tigers in D.359 basically got things squared away, going 64-39 the rest of the way, including a 14-1 stretch going into the all-star break, and pulled away to take the division by 9 games with a record of 97-65. We ended the season taking 2 of 3 from the top seeded cross-town rival Outlaws; we'll be the 2 seed playing the winner of the play-in game between the Diamond Bar Jammers and Neutonia Rebels. We ended the season in third in starter ERA (by less than a hundredth of a point) and and first in bullpen ERA by a full half point. Our starting pitching cooled off a bit as the season went on and Gibson never really got it going, finishing with a 4.86 ERA, but Paige went 19-10 with a 3.10 ERA (2nd in the conference) and Joss went 15-6 at 3.61. J.R. Richard took to his new closer role fairly well, finishing one back of the conference leader in saves (the conference leader in saves had an ERA over 8, oddly). He also had a 2.77 ERA and led the conference in K/9 at 13.3. On the other hand our former closer Lindy McDaniel ended up third in WAR and second in FIP among relief pitchers so I may reevaluate next season. Tom Gordon and Joe Nathan managed to finish with ERAs of 1.90 and 2.15. McDaniel's ERA this season was 2.02 lower than last season, Nathan's was 3.94 lower, Gordon's was a ridiculous 6.45 lower. Olson and Aguilera, our new bullpen additions, were at 2.84 and 2.83 respectively. Batting was very pedestrian this season.
Black Knights in G.310 had a similarly good season, finishing 96-66, finishing with the second seed one game back of the Massachusetts Minutemen; we'll be playing the Iowa Micro Market Mavens. Also similar to the White Tigers we got by on stellar pitching, finishing first in runs allowed, starter ERA, and bullpen ERA, and second in FIP. We also led the conference in defensive efficiency. In particular, Steve Carlton led the conference with a 2.75 ERA despite only winning 14 games; Greg Maddux and Ron Reed both won 17 games. Joe Nathan led the conference in saves, while long reliever Ted Lyons pitched 78.1 innings at an ERA of 1.49. Sun Kings in D.360 finished at the bottom of their division, going 67-95, though it wasn't bad enough to get relegated. Bagwell, and the team overall, led the conference in home runs though. Over in PT20, the White Tigers finished as the 2 seed at 111-51 in in P.433 on the strength of some great starting pitching (four pitchers under 3.50, with Richard at 2.75) and a lot of home runs, although Eck had a rare season with an ERA over 3, though only barely. The Black Panthers keep winning silver tournaments left and right, including the daily today, but miss out again on the playoffs in P.435, finishing 73-89. Had some decent enough pitching but our hitting was garbage. Finally, the Golden Lions, who won their first title last season, lost a play-in game and finish just outside the playoffs at 90-73 in D.398. So now my two secondary teams in PT20 have won titles, but my primary team is still waiting on their first (this is their 34th playoff appearance, and 16th in a row), and I'm still waiting for any of my PT21 teams to win a championship. |

Paragon City Heroes 83-79 in a tough division was a solid enough season, we were the best team not in the playoffs, but in reality way back in the WC standings.
San Angeles 70s 101-61 was good for a WC spot and promotion to gold, we would have won all but one other division so just unlucky to be in a division with a 114 game winner. Warmed up for the WC spot by losing the last 4 games of the season to a 70-92 team, so I fully expect a loss in the WC to a team we went 6-1 against in the regular season. Finally managed to save enough to pick up Rusty Staub. Willie Wilson had himself a season 2nd in the league in average (.329) 1st in runs (123) 1st in SB (117 out of 130) 2nd in WAR (7.5) 1st in WPA (6.79) Lowdown Lugnuts had their 2nd successive relegation despite signs of life in the 2nd half, if it had been a full league rather than just 24 teams we'd probably have stayed up going 72-90 (we were 1 win away from safety) Bay City Boomers 123-39 Pitching Triple Crown from Maddux, Yaz led the league in average (.356) Bagwell in homers (40) helped us to a daily total of 13090 PP. We spent a chunk of PP earned on Willie Randolph to play 2b, despite lefty heavy splits i'll play him full time

Just when I'd given up hope of catching Emmetts Maulers, we sprinted right past them in September. Barely. Ended up with the best overall record at 110-52. That's a full 30 game improvement over last week. Finished some heavy-hitting collections and also had much better luck/strategy this week. Kind of a perfect storm that I wasn't really expecting. Scored 60 more runs and allowed 282 fewer runs. The pitching staff is basically the same. Go figure! Teh ballpark factorzzz.
Our prize for top overall seed is to face the eventual Wild Card RNG champ, so Frogs and Maulers could continue the rivalry if the Maulers can get by the Salt Potatoes. Frogs ended up 12-7 vs the Maulers and 4-2 vs the Salt Potatoes in the regular season. Clearly, we're on track to be swept in the Division Series! That's how these things work. I laugh looking at H2H records and noticing that the team we had the most trouble with (1-5) ended up a 60-102 team. lol 100 Satchel Paige is a strong contender for Cy Young/Pitcher of the Year with 19-8, 2.68 ERA, and 233 K. Paige led the NC in ERA, K/9 (10.2), and WAR (6.4). Was 2 off the pace in wins and 5 off the pace in K's for a Triple Crown. Lots of stars on the offense, but 98 George Sisler (.296, 54 2B, 28 HR, 132 RBI, 46 SB) and SE Ichiro (.336/.373/.472, 41 2B, 10 HR, 63 RBI, 68 SB) put up two of the prettier stat lines on the team. SE's Appling and Jackie Robinson combined for 8.9 WAR even though they both played half of a season a piece. 98 Roger Connor continues to laugh in the face of whale-caliber pitching (.316/.401/.478). Perhaps the best sight of all was 99 Trevor Hoffman rebounding from his drunken slob 2026 season. Hoffman saved 42/46 with a 1.98 ERA and 0.95 WHIP. Those numbers last week? 18/24, 6.12, 1.52.

Can you please relegate my team, I’m the worst team not being dropped to gold and it’s clear I don’t belong in diamond...

Gold 315. Well the Seawolves took 1st in the NC regular season and appears to be moving up to be CRUSHED in the Diamond level next week.
Mega Whale Motor City Magic heavily favored to take the Gold Series. They just need a better logo.

A big win for the 70s in the WC, a fairly typical Nolan Ryan performance, 3 hits, 2 runs, 8 walks, 6 Ks
Play against the 114 win Phoenix Rising , a heavy collection team with some added oomph. We went 9-10 in the regular season with them, so it could be close but i'm not expecting to beat them

D359 Red Raiders Wrap-up
Huntley ended up 78-84 and in third place, 3 games out of first. And Carl Yastrzemski won his second straight home run crown!

Only Tiger King make the playoff this week, win the wild card. Now playing a team stacked with SE players. Its a good challenge.

Once again another dominate regular season by the Port Dawgs ends in disaster. Cruised to 100 win season, won division by 11 games, gets blown out by a much lesser wildcard team in the first round... 1 year I can see it...3 years in a row?
Things that make you go hmmm.....

Got in with both teams. Zeniths won the divisional round. Gorillas in a game 5... and they lost

Bay City Boomers end up a cliche, we outscored the wildcard team 32-20, but lost 3-2 against a team we were 13-6 against in regular season play.
Maddux went 25-3 in the regular season and lost 2 straight playoff games. both to live Zack Greinke with his 44 mov, against my team that had 6 30 home run hitters and over 250 homers. Not salty
