It doesn't know if it wants to be baseball sim or a GM/Organization sim or both. OOTPB does the number crunching extremely well. Whether you are trying to setup a realistic modern mlb or some kind of fictional one in your head.I also feel like the playing out and acting as manager is done really well. OOTPB has GM/Organization sim mechanics but they all either haven't be touched in 5+ versions or are borderline broken at this point. That as much I as love the concepts it makes me want to turn off all those options because it gimps/nerfs the AI too much. There has been 2 things pointed out just this week on the forum that completely nerfs the AI teams. Owner controlling budget and this charity event that lowers the teams market size by 1 each time you create one for your player. I'm looking for the dynamic entertaining GM/Org simulation experience. And OOTPB isn't doing it for me anymore. Since version 18 every version plays exactly the same from a gm/org perspective. The names and ratings of the players might change but its exactly the same video game experience. Also thanks for mentioning Football Manager. I don't know anything about soccer but that continually sounds more and more like the game I am after. I guess I'll just have to learn that sport. I do love baseball but I probably need some time away from OOTPB because its just leading to being frustrated and annoyed with the game. Even though I still love ootbp and baseball. After all I did pick up Motorsport Manager because everyone on this forum praises it. I didn't know anything about F1 racing but that game is fabulous. I've done a couple play throughs of it. Not sure if I could play the game every year like OOTP. But it does a way better big picture head of organization simulation then ootpb. The two games aren't even in the same league when it comes to that. |

well, I thought is that was how it worked. but I went back. and tested and you are right it is like declining the options. so that helps and makes it easier. I am wondering if that changed somewhere along the way because I thought I remembered having to pay that in the past
