PT Is Ruining My Life And I Love It

Introductions folks,
I'm Jim, cranky old guy living in Canada. I've owned each version of OOTP since 13 or 14, and in all that time I have resisted the PT hook.
Well, no more. After three weeks of booting the game up and seeing that PT teaser package, the dark side called, and I clicked. I took the plunge a little over a week ago and I am now addicted, lol. (Damn you Markus, lol.)
So, because of that I have now joined the forums, so deep has the hook been set. So my first (of many) questions to the wise ones who inhabit these forums is this: Are the ratings are consistent across the card categories? In other words, if my Silver catcher has a contact rating of 65, is that 65 the same in a higher ranking (ie, Gold) card? Also, what is everyone's take on the various strategy settings for the overall team? How do you use them overall? Based on your preference, or aligned as much as possible with the abilities of your players?
Thanks in advance.

Welcome!

It's real addicting. The 65 is the same regardless of overall card rating. In fact, that overall rating is mainly for tournaments and to give you a very general idea of the tier of card.

I'll let others comment on the strategies and such.
