The guy in the stands at Wrigley

He might want to think about high tailing it out of Wrigley after trying to catch the foul ball. He may not make it out alive.

Gonzalez at short may want to hitch a ride with him.

It amazes me how many times this happens at baseball games. If you are going to interfere, at least do it when it will help your team. IE that kid who caught Jeter's homer in 97 I think.

The thing is. After I watched the replay.. that wall isn't 6 inches tall... Maybe he didnt think he could jump it.. who knows.

after watching the replay it doesn't look like the wall height matters it would have landed inside the wall, and probably hit the top half inside the field of play.

Ya know, I gotta say I don't think the fan was at fault here. From the moment that ball left the bat he was probably watching the ball and only the ball. What would any of you do with a foul ball coming at you in a ball game?

The real blame for that inning rests on the shoulders of Dusty Baker. Let's put the blame where it should be, on Dusty's keep a a guy throwing til his arms falls off strategy.

actually if you watch a lot of games during the regular season most homefield fans let the player catch the ball. I even say a game in San fran where the first baseman reached into the stands to catch the ball and the fan got out of the way.

If that would have been the home team that hit that ball, interference would have been called.

True Baker should not have left the pitcher in.

But at the same time his decisions may not have happened if not for that play.
I dont know for sure if Alou would have caught it.
But regardless the fan or fans will get blamed.

I really wish they would put some distance between the wall and the fans but still allow the fans to get the ball if it goes past that point.

And how do we know that fan or those fans werent Marlin fans in disguise.

Regardless of what happens the cubs lost the game. Gonzo lost the game. But messing up and easy double play. Such is life. Hopefully i'll manage to see a cubs world series in my life time. But days like this remind me why it probably won't happen.

he left the pitcher in cause he was white. His brothas in the bullpen wouldn't do well in the cold.
