There are some cool ideas here.

I admit however, that I am at the point where I would like to see the 3D take another step forward. Not just the correct animations, but the player models and stadiums. I am not expecting MLB the Show type graphics, just another step forward from what we have.

I know, I know, it is not the heart of the game, but for a lot of folks who play-out all of their games, or many of their games, it is a big part of how we experience OOTP.

Here is just one example. I've got the ace of my staff struggling. 3-4 bad starts in a row. What are things I can do to try and help him get out of his funk? Can I commit my pitching coach to spend more time with him? Are there manager "tasks" I can use to try and get him out of the skid? Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't. Maybe having a better coaching staff will increase the odds it helps him get back on track. That might not even be the best idea, but it would at least give me a little more control of what's going on. If my ace is getting bombed in his last 5 starts, I'm absolutely helpless, and I don't think it should be that way.

and to "piggyback"....what about news stories indicating a player is struggling...but there does need to be ways to communicate to both players and staff.

So I'm someone (right now at least) that plays every game in my sim for my team. Really pay attention to the minor league system, always looking at the wavier wire, ect.

It would be really nice to get more reports from your minor league staff about how players are performing, if they are over their head, maybe a coach thinks a player deserves to be promoted. Why am I not hearing from my scouting director that Player XYZ has been playing out of his mind the last two weeks in AA, why don't we try and acquire him from Team XYZ?

There just are a ton of small things to add to make your "world" feel much more alive than it is now.

I'd also like to see more refined international leagues (including winter leagues) which have all of the up to date rules.

Correct posting systems...and the ability to have 35 (or what ever number) man rosters with 25 (or whatever you want) active.

Some great ideas IMO.

I wish there was a "like" button on these forums.

Another idea I just came up with.

Anyone here me on this?

I find myself getting PISSED sometimes at free agents who won't sign with me. Mainly guys who never played for my team but sometimes even guys who did.

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE a "talk trash" option or some way to let them know they pissed me off or "I told you so" after they get way less money than I offered them.

Even a drop down menu you could do a few times a year (get a certain number?) just like my idea of having a certain number of communications with your owner.

Is this dumb or does anyone else ever feel this way?

I know there are leagues that have a "my-player mode" but would be cool if there was a "my-player mode" integrated into the game where you create your player based on a set of prototypes, attributes and what not. Then you can be able to do any of the in-game options to control your players career and progress, in a simulated way.

THIS GAME IS INCREDIBLE. I'm addicted. I will be buying it every year forever and telling everyone I know about it. THANK YOU.

I have a few things I'd really like to see added that I feel could be done pretty easily. Of course I have no background with computers or IT stuff, so I could be way off, but I feel like these could be fairly easily implemented and AWESOME additions.

1. Love the Team History portion where you can go back and look at records, attendance, etc etc.

Could we next year get an "All-Time Roster" option?

As in, if you look in any real life MLB team media guide, it will have "All-Time Roster" in there. Might say something like, "975 players have appeared in at least one game for the KC Royals" and then list them in alphabetical order with the position they played and years they were there. Would be cool to be able to look back player by player from all these seasons I'm playing of guys who made it up to the parent club and then you could click on a link from each player to see their stats.

2. When watching the PBP live, it always gives batting average, HR's, RBI's... Could we make it so you could customize which stats you see in the settings?

For example, I'd LOVE to see WAR and OPS for hitters - Fip for pitchers - when its giving you the play by play via text. Could we choose 3-4 stats we want to have show up out of a list of possibilities?

3. I would like to see "HOMETOWN DISCOUNT" somehow incorporated with negotiations of guys currently on your roster before FA or as they hit it. Maybe some way to ask for a hometown discount or have some guys offer it if they've been with you awhile, you've been winning, etc. Since maybe 25% of guys in real life will give their long time/original franchise hometown discounts.

Would also be cool to be able to go back and forth a bit more.

4. This one might be way more difficult, but as others have mentioned, would be INCREDIBLE to be able to have conversations with your owner or at least being able to choose 3 or 4 options to "ask him" (ask for more money - ask his opinion on something to butter him up - etc. They could even be only a few things you're allowed to ask from a pull down menu maybe only a few times a year)

5. On expansion drafts, it would be cool if like in real life, you could pull back an additional 3 players each time one of your players is selected. I'm pretty certain it's the same in Rule V where you can pull back 2 guys once someone is taken but that never happens in the game so no big deal.

6. WAYYYYYYYYY too many times - the computer attempts to steal 3rd with a left handed hitter up and 2 outs. This would never happen in real life but it happens I bet every third game I watch live. Small thing.

7. Would there be an option to get "fan mail" as the GM or Manager? Maybe seeing what fans think of your performance, asking for things, etc? Could be a really cool thing to incorporate.

8. Finally, what about adding a "beat writer" that you have to conduct interviews with from pre selected options or give info to, etc. Could help with fan interest and getting info out and add a fun layer. Especially in the older days.

I get most of these aren't priorities, some aren't doable and maybe some are just lame, but thought I would offer some suggestions, because I bet you'll get a HUUUUGE amount of people who buy this next year who like me, were first time purchasers, and might really hook them further for the longterm.

Matt, Markus, any feedback on any of these? like? Hate? Already thought of them all?

THANK YOU for this game.
Good ideas! I especially like #8.

The ghost of W.P. Earhart salutes you!

What do I know about better 3-D animations when I don't have a clue about what a better 3-D animation would be or how to make it better?

Like asking for a better jet engine when I don't know what the best one already is...lol

The animations themselves don't bother me. Even players running through the walls doesn't really bother.

I'm not a big play out games person though. The only thing off about 3D to me is the syncing of the action. Not sure if that classifies as an animation. But the sync is off especially when its base running and hits to the outfield.

You just get weird sync issues with the relay guy holding onto the ball while someone goes 2b to home or some silly nonsense. The animations themselves were fine on a play like that. Just completely out of sync.

I would say its extremely common. Runners on base and a hit to the outfield most of the time it doesn't sync well. It immediately takes you out of the action. Running through a wall or a bad catch animation I can live with cause my brain recognizes it as a game glitch but the syncing issues they are just to jarring.

Neutral Site W-L record in standings.

The ability (in commish mode) to cancel a game during that day's game play.

Hahahha touche on "doesn't seem healthy"

I just mean I get ticked for about 15 seconds. It would just be fun to trash talk and add that layer. Might help somehow establish rivalries, too

Please give us the option to link team histories to expansion teams! I want the Expos to pick up their team history, and not have to start from scratch.

Would love to see expanded records and stat-tracking in Association Modes. I doubt it's something that's a priority given that only a certain percentage of OOTP players use fictional leagues and a even smaller percentage of those probably use the Associations feature, but I would love to more record-keeping ability there. At a minimum I'd like to have Association play statistics tracked and Association playoff awards given out, but also would love to see a page that has the statistical leaders for a single season and all-time based on regular season play within any league included in an association.

Also, I would kill to have a development model where you can assign tasks to coaches and allocate money towards specific things. For example, I'd love to be able to have X% of my budget go towards getting that top prospect to focus on that changeup that won't develop and try to get over the hump. Maybe there could be a way to split the dev budget up between generic offseason training and then have an in-season budget where you can assign dev priorities as they arise.
