What modifiers are you using for MLB games?
Are you just going with the default 2019 season that has the "juiced ball/launch angle/three outcome" numbers? This could be the peak home run total for this era of baseball and not turning it down will lead to really high career home run totals 20 seasons down the road. I do think the high home run numbers will be here to stay so I don't want to turn them down too much, I was thinking maybe 2017 is a happier medium and what we will see closer to in the foreseeable future?
I was even thinking of 2015 since I really liked that year of baseball but don't think those numbers are too realistic anymore. Basically I'm asking what modifiers you guys are using? Have you thought about changing them? |

Can't comment on others overwhelming preference, but my intention is to "dejuice" the ball and use 2017 (or perhaps 2018) modifiers for my Tigers quickstart in the coming days. Looking forward to seeing plenty of more evenly balanced seasons as opposed to near-70+ HR single season records every 5 to 6 years.

Here are the home run totals for the past three seasons. 2017: 6,105 2018: 5,585 2019: 6,776 The numbers are going to stay high for a few years atleast in my opinion. It's not just the ball being quite possibly juiced but the batters launch angle obsession. Last edited by Canuck; 05-06-2020 at 03:46 PM. |

I actually settled on 2016 numbers. Slightly higher home run numbers than 2018, but less strikeouts and more balls in play. It may not be the most accurate for the next couple years of real baseball but it will be more enjoyable to me. If anything I might turn down the starting pitcher stamina from 1.2 to 1.1.

Can you make the change after the season starts or at any other time in the save? Or are you stuck with the modifiers forever?

2018 is working well for my MLB sim. Most years, the league leader in home runs is in the 50's (occasionally in the 60's), and the league ERA is typically around 4.00. It seems to strike a good balance. |
