How Many Titles In A Row?

1. What is the most World Series titles you've ever won in a row?

2. What's the longest you've ever begun a current day franchise and kept it going? (how many years did you get before starting over?)

I will say its a bit sad being in 2032 now because hardly anyone from "real life" is still left. Sometimes I wish guys aged a bit better in the default settings. Seems like most guys flame out at 32, which I realize is like real life, but wish some of the stars and big names would last a bit longer on the whole.

God this game is incredible.

OOTP 18
Think I had a Pirates save in 18 that I did like 8 of 10 or 10 of 12. It was only MLB and Milb. No other leagues.

OOTP 19
I did 5 of 6 WS with the Athletics. So it kicks off opening day 2018. First win was 2020. Then I stopped after winning 2025. 2021 I lost champ series and didn't make the WS. And for the AI from 2018 to 2025 it was split between the Dodgers and Brewers making the WS or winning.

OOTP 20
I was the Tigers but I only played one season felt too similar to 18 and 19. It was playing out exactly like the Pirates/Athletics saves played out. So I stopped after the 1st season and then played Perfect Team in XX for like 200 hours.

OOTP 21
I am rolling with the Phillies about to start my 2nd season. 1st season I was god awful finished below the Marlins lol

Me personally I think aging is actual too slow. Players don't peak the same way they do in modern mlb. Mlb now is a young mans game its much more like the NFL. If you are 30+ you are washed up. This is MLB with no PEDS. Real aging. Not players hanging on till they are 37.

You will still get a dozen or so players 32+, they are usually either the great ones or the ones that are average but just have never fallen off so are still worth a roster spot. But all of that is personally taste. Whatever makes the universe more fun or entertaining for you I say go for it. If you want slower aging drop it down to somewhere around .500, again its not going to be the entire league maybe you get another dozen players 32+.

My current save is probably about as long as I've ever gone. Started in 2019 and it's now 2046. My longest title streak is 3, but I did win the World Series 8 out of 12 seasons at one point. I also lost the World Series twice during that timeframe (4-3 both times), so I was actually in the World Series 10 out of 12 years.

The most I have won in a row was 3 with the Indians, but that was in OOTP 18.

I just finished my first season in OOTP 21 and won the World Series with the Indians in 7 games over the Braves....best part was sweeping the Astros in the ALCS. I am in a good position to make another run next season, was able to free up enough money to sign Lindor and Clevinger to extensions but had to let Carlos Santana, Brad Hand and Cesar Hernandez walk in free agency, but should have some guys read to make the step from the minors to fill those holes.

In OOTP 20, I played as the Indians from 2019 - 2024 winning one World Series and then resigned and took over the expansion Charlotte Cherokees and won the World Series in year 4 of their existence but missed the playoffs the next season (80-82) before rebounding and getting to the playoffs 4 of the next 5 season (missed the Wild Card going 100-62...darn Yankees and White Sox). I imported that save into 21 but have not gone back to it yet, but I am in year 2035 right now. And if you pay attention to your team, those fictional players that end up coming into the league do end up feeling real as you go on, you just have to look past the names....because we have no idea who the stars of 2035+ are going to be yet in real life.

A better question, IMO, is now many seasons have you played without going to the World Series?
As to your question, I have won 2 World Series in a row playing as gm. Longest running game was 27 years.

I won 3 in a row back in OOTP 18 with the Royals. Moved mostly online after that.

I think the furthest I have gone is about 15 years.

I had a guy in one of my fictional leagues keep playing well until he was over 40. Over .300 BA, double digits in homers, at or near triple digits in RBIs every year. I even nicknamed him the Ageless One. Finally, at 43 he tailed off to .240 avg and single digit homers so I retired him.

The most years I've gone without going to the World Series was 7. After that 12 year run I mentioned above, I lost the NLCS, didn't make the playoffs for two years, lost the division series, lost the wild card game two years in a row, and then didn't make the playoffs. I really thought I might get fired after that year, but I got one more chance and ended up winning the World Series the next season.

135 years before I moved to new League, Longest champ run was 5 With Pirates(7 WS in 9 trips) took over White Sox in 2022 then it was 7 in row (13 in 13 Trips) retired in 2078 with that manager 30 WS titles 35 trips with CWS

in 2040 I started a House rule for trading and the Game got smarter it became tougher to win which made it better, that was 6-7 real years ago games still so much fun.

Not long I am lucky to make it 10 years in a universe. It just becomes the case of your team being so dominate. Not only at the Pro level but eventually its like all of your minor league teams are so good they are in the playoffs every year as well. Well at least A/AA/AAA. Hell even the Arizona Fall team wins because they recruit so many of my minor guys to their teams.

I despise house rules. I don't play any video game with house rules. As I purchase a couple dozen each year if a game needs house rules for me to get a challenge or enjoyment then it usually means it's not worth my time so I move onto the next game.

The only thing in OOTP you can really do is increase trade difficulty. But once you learn it then it doesn't really provide a long term challenge.

I do wish there was some difficulty settings to perhaps give the AI a boost. I understand that gets away from the realism factor but it certainly adds to the video game factor. I can imagine options for AI getting % increase to budget, payroll, revenue etc. % bonus to scouting. Even % bonus to players platy being better vs human.

The current thing I am realizing from several recent threads is how much "owner controls budget" cripples AI teams. Its absurd the amount of money the owners deduct from the budget. I've seen popular teams have 100 million less in budget then they should have. And its the majority of teams getting >=25 million less then they should. I think that is fine for the human player to have a challenge. But the last thing we need is the AI with less budget. They already can't manage their budget and free agents as it is.

I've recently been testing some settings for a promotion/relegation system. Have trading turned off and reserve era rules enabled. System has three levels with two sub-leagues of 20 teams each. Top/bottom 3 teams in each sub-league are P/R'd each season. Only the top team's in each sub-league play in a championship series at the conclusion of a season.

I'd say the Harrisburg Red Sox (AI controlled) have put together a fairly strong finish to the 22nd century. Consistently winning both the top tier's playoff and the annual tournament consisting of every team in all three leagues.

Not bad for a team that in 2130 was in tier 3. I'm going to keep swimming this league just to see how long they dominate.
