Minor League Players Banished to the Phantom Zone when MiLB Affiliates Change

I've been playing a historical game with full minor leagues, starting with the Brewers in 1993. The problem I've noticed is that when a minor league affiliate changes, the players from that team no longer show up on the roster of any team in my minor league system.

The first time this happened was when my AA team moved to El Paso. All the AA players disappeared. Additionally, when my AAA affiliate switched from Tucson to Louisville after the 1997 season, all of my minor league players disappeared, not just those at AAA.

In the 1997-98 case, after searching around a bit, it appears that all of the teams were deactivated and new versions of those teams were placed into the correct leagues (you can see both the "old" team and "new" version of the team in the League History index. At AA there's a El Paso Diablos - Inactive showing their record/etc from 1993-1997 and an El Paso Diablos (MIL) in the active portions of the index.

Eventually I found all my players. They had been assigned to my lowest team (the Ogden Raptors) but I couldn't see them unless I went into Players -->Minor Leagues. I was then able to reassign them to the correct affiliates, but it was a pain in the neck. I also lost all the staff associated with those teams and had to edit things back to the way they were in Commissioner Mode. Again, not fun.

Overall this game is a blast... but this problem is really irritating.

The players do go to your lowest level minors by default, so that is working as intended I believe. What sounds like isn't working correctly is that you can't see them.

Do you have a save file from while you were still having the issue of not being able to see them? If so, and you can upload it according to my sig and let us know what you named it, we can take a look and see what might be going on.

Unfortunately I didn't keep a save. I just fixed it and moved along.

Hi Lucas, I have had a similar experience. I too have moved on beyond that point but I do have a backup which, from memory, was made on the game day immediately before the new leagues/teams/players were imported. Would you like those files?
