Is there any difference getting a "used" card in the AH vs a "new" one?
Only reason asking is I thought I saw someone saying they had a brand new Gold Card that had never been used in game and was going to put it up in the AH. Made a point to say it was brand new...
I mean a card is a card right whether it's been used for 1/2 a season or pulled fresh from a pack ??

For me that would be the most useless information ever. Period. I could not give two ****s if it had been. That said, there are people who REALLY value this so maybe a "notes" section which could be short but mention virgin card and maybe trained positions although I think you can see that.

I think it shows but I could be wrong which would be bad I guess since I've been playing PT since the very first beta.

My guess is you are probably right and I've just been looking at brand new cards in the AH that being flipped or not cross trained.

If a player has been used then their stats will stay with the card.
Some users don’t like this and will pay something extra for cards that have never been used before and have no stats. Otherwise there is no difference. But if your selling a high value card that has never been used and are using the forum or discord for it. Then mentioning that the card is ‘mint’ could earn you a few more % on the selling price for those that care about that sort of thing. |

That blows my mind to be honest. Of all the things in the known world this ranks dead last. No offense to those that rank it important in the context of this game.

Then I saw the prior season stats...again I think you guys answered my question that it makes no difference performance wise of the card. I will say unless I'm missing something, I can't see anything relating to use or prior seasons on cards in the AH? You really won't know until you own the card apparently (If Im wrong, please correct me)

Buying a used card in the AH is actually better. For instance, I bought a Lindor from the AH. Since it was used he already trained to be a 2b which is a significant bonus!

That's my thought....how do you know if the card is new or used? Is there a way to tell?

Finally, when you first get the card, it will look pristine whether it is or not. It isn't until it has spent one game on the reserve or active roster (inactive doesn't count!) that it will even show whether it has been trained in other positions or even has prior stats.

Thanks for the info! That clears up my original questions I had on buying a card on AH (whether a card will perform differently if used or mint) I guess it is sort of like playing the lottery...in sounds like a used card that has been trained up at different positions is even a better find no matter how many stats or seasons on it

"Oh, him? I pulled him from a pack." Difficult or impossible, currently, to prove otherwise. Mint cards required, tho. The Auction House is just like sex. Everybody lies about sex. Last edited by Lemandria; 05-02-2020 at 12:24 PM. |

Don't matter if you new to this. Forum loves to rip people apart with any questions ie: insulting intelligence, favorite team, legit questions...anything really. But for your question I prefer "used" cards bc most of the time their trained defensive skills are there already. Just my preference but as far as performance of card. I'm sure somebody has a spreadsheet somewhere with all that figured out....which would be MEH to do...Good Luck! FYI..These forums bite |

Then why are you here to be honest? Man, you complain several levels more than the average man, you just angry all the time or what? Chicago is a cool town, been there twice and loved it. White Sox have a rather interesting history and they have been around a damn long time. Charles Comisky built a stadium about 3 blocks from my house in the late 1800's and my dad watched Willie Mays there in the real early 50's I believe. It was torn down 5 years before I was born but very cool and I wish it was still there.

Would it be nice to know in the AH if a player was trained at a different position? Yes. But for now it's just a matter of luck.

Cool - I learned something new in PT. My 1st year playing. I have a Tulo that I trained to play 3B and 2B so it would make sense if I traded that card in the Auction House that the person buying it would benefit. I would think the price is higher for such a card as we are not dealing with real baseball cards here, they are all mint and have no bent corners ;-)

Sometimes people like them unused so that they call them "mint", maybe the logic is that the player is in fact a member of their team, & only their team? But the plus side of a used card sometimes is defensive training having increased, at least it was in 2.0 & I doubt it's totally disappeared in 3.0 since it made sense. Other than that, they are the same card, but we computer nerds have different nerdy ways of looking at it, and some claim that no two cards are the same. Technically right, but I don't think there's a master card or anything, lol...they are all identical copies, I'd guess.

Well, people sort of have to make the truth their way, so they either make it the best they can, ignore what's true & what isn't or a number of other options...Like sticking to your own truth.
