I always thought that a big reason why Billy Conn was still around in the 13th round was because Louis was ringworn---this was his 7th fight in 7 months! Starting in December of '40, he fought literally once a month: Al McCoy in December, followed by Red Burman, Gus Dorazio, Abe Simon, Tony Musto, and Buddy Baer....and in the Baer fight, he was knocked through the ropes in the first round. That was a mere 26 days before he climbed into the ring to meet Conn! This was the last time Louis was under 200 lbs for a fight (officially); was he overtrained as well? Was he "too fine" from the once-a-month schedule?

Interestingly, given a solid three months "respite" after Conn, he had an easy time with the much bigger Lou Nova.

MAJ. DRAW 15 is quite an upset, but I can see the rare possibility of Ibragimov pulling an upset.
