Defensive sub

Hi,

If you look at my boxscore, when we see C Vazquez sustituted CF Podsednik, does this mean Vazquez played in CF after his PH or he played C after the PH? And Buxton played the CF in replacement of Podsednik?

Thx, i'm not a baseball beast, i'm trying to learn details of this game

How I read it is:

- Buxton PH for Jimenez (LF)
- Lawton moved from RF to LF (replacing Jimenez)
- White moved from C to RF (replacing Lawton)
- Vazquez came in for Podz (replacing White at C)
- Buxton plays CF (replacing Podz)

May i ask you a second question in the same way, but on pregame lineup?

I decided to personalise my lineups instead of AI, but when i have programmed pregame sub, like player B replace player A every X games or if starter tired, why the AI scratched my personalised lineup and go with it's own completly different? Why player B doesn't replace player A with the exact same order?

Is there a parameter i ignore?

Thx again

Sometimes, when you are making changes, the game will simulate and you may not know it. Therefore, your changes do not take effect because you do not have the most up-to-date file. Try to make changes after a simulation so that you will have 30 minutes to make those changes before the next simulation.

No, that's not a lineup update problem. Players are on my bench and they only play as starter sub..

If I understand correctly, you're asking why, if a backup replaces a regular starter, the AI shuffles your lineup instead of keeping your lineup in the same order with the backup in place of the regular? The answer to that is because your backup and regular may be very different hitters. Like, say your regular CF is fast, hits well, and bats leadoff, but your backup CF is slow and a worse hitter. Almost nobody would want that backup to lead off, and no real MLB manager would keep him at the top of the order just because the regular CF normally hits there. In solo OOTP play, you can micromanage every game's lineups with that day's substitutes, and you can use 7-day lineups in PT if you want that level of control, but if the AI makes the substitutions, it also has to make some reasonable changes based on what most managers would want their lineup to look like.

Tell me what sport you're more familiar with, and I'll see if I can come up with a good analogy.

Yeah, that's what i said and you perfectly answered it... That's the reason i supposed too. But i don't like how AI fills my lineup

You can use player strategies to force players to be used at certain positions in the lineup (Drop down arrow on team name, click player strategy, then drag a player to the strategy box)

if you change a player strategy also remember to change the mode to override team strategy
