Season 57 (2075) - Anyone Out There?
After failing to make a PT20 thread for a couple weeks, it's time to puke and rally!
The Frogs won sweet #15....errrr...#15 last week. Now begins the drive for 20 PL-level titles. That might be a problem, because we've landed in one of the toughest leagues I've ever seen happen organically. P452 is going to be a league for the ages. To my knowledge it isn't even a real whale league. The Frogs are in the AC East, and joined there by Westvleteren XII (one of the top whale teams in the game). The XII have 14 PL titles and are using lefty-pitch-count-cheese on top of that! How dare they make me check the schedule and set my 7-day lineups! The AC Central doesn't boast any PL champs, but the West has the 3-time champ San Antonio Silver Sluggers. Plus, 2 other teams (Los Angeles Dodgers and Texas Phenoms) that should have titles by now judging by the string of 100+ win seasons. In the NC East, we have the 2-time champ Toms River Little League Champs as well as the four-time diamond champ Murray Air Buds. That's a lot of dominating mixed with relegating, eh? The NC Central houses the 11-time PL champ Pawtucket Poets. Also, an up-and-comer other Los Angeles Dodgers team that has yet to win, but is building a strong team ever since being est. in 2063. And then for perhaps a division to rival La Crosse and Westvleteren's AC East for best division, there's the monster of an NC West. The 17-time champ LA Rams, 11-time champ Ocean City Ocelots, and 5-time champ Miami Jaws will be battling fiercely all week. I have a soft spot for the LA Rams because we've already faced them in 2 PL Series, splitting the pair. Time to go open some packs and hope I can pull a heckuva pitcher to fortify this team against this tuff league...

P453: Things Get Real...Madrid...Again
I'm here! I'm here!
And so is my old nemesis, RealMadrid El Blanco, and as you can see below, they are off to a 15-0 start. Huntley is off to a slow start at 8-6, highlighted by a "spectacular" early season record in 1-run games of 1-3 and already underplaying their Pythag by 3 games. But honestly, I don't care (well, not yet, anyway). And that's because of what happened yesterday, at the end of the previous season. Huntley won 114 games in 2074, our fewest since 2062. Huntley also was in the midst of its longest title drought in PT 20 at 10 weeks, with only 1 trip to the Perfect League Series during those weeks. Well, somehow, Huntley shockingly upset the legendary Mississauga Carnivores in the Sub-League Series in 6 games, despite winning 20 fewer games during the regular season, and then the Red Raiders found themselves deadlocked 3-3 in the Perfect League Series with the heavily favored Athletic Winged Ratweilers (122-game winners). And that's when the "Could not sync" server issues hit. But all's well that ends well, because, and I'll never know how, Huntley managed to pull off the Game 7 upset on the road and take its 9th Perfect League title! ![]() Anyway, good luck to everyone in 2075! |

Just realized that one reason for Huntley's slow start is that, because the server issue hit literally right before the end of the season, I never reset my rotation back to 5.

So the Golden Lions' Zack Greinke, last five starts, four failed to qualify as quality starts, giving up 5 runs twice and 6 runs twice. The fifth? Perfect game.

P453: Congrats to the Subway Jareds...
...for ending RealMadrid's season-opening 33-game winning streak!
(Don't worry, El Blanco hasn't lost since and is currently 38-1.) Also, down below that historic box score is an equally historic--on the infamous side--pitching line from Huntley's Curt Schilling. Two fun facts: A) I don't believe I've ever seen a PT 20 pitcher not record an out before being pulled, and B) the Red Raiders actually came back to win the game, 10-9.

The Glou are still here. We got dumped back down to diamond a couple weeks ago, and only managed an 81-81 record there last week. However... I did pull Peak Pedro last week (yep, the one that I could probably sell for 3 million PP at the moment), and he's already stating his case for a triple crown this week (9-2 record, 1.42 ERA, 81 strikeouts - 5 back on that board).
76OVR Tony Gwynn (the terrible defense one) is leading the league with a .387 BA but despite the 'Glou having the 3rd-best OPS in the conference, they're struggling to score runs, sitting at 10th in that category. We're currently 33-21, 4 1/2 games up in our division.

P453: What an Awful Month for RealMadrid
When we last checked in with P453, RealMadrid El Blanco was 51-1.
Well, since then, El Blanco has, relatively speaking, completely fallen apart. The owner is livid. The fans are aghast. El Blanco is a laughingstock. I mean, just look at what happened earlier in June: RealMadrid lost 2 games. IN A ROW. El Blanco is now 74-3. The bums. (Oh, and the second screenshot is Huntley's month. Heh heh.)

Welcome Back to the RealMadrid Update Thread
Below is the first head-to-head matchup between the RealMadrid El Blanco and Huntley Red Raiders this year (could have gone worse) and the latest standings. Maybe B Team or the Anaheim Mighty Ducks will give RealMadrid a challenge in the Perfect League Series?

Peak Pedro is 22-3, with a 1.61 ERA, 217 strikeouts and a 9.9 WAR. He's won every pitcher of the month award so far this season.
The Glou are 83-52 with the best record in the D355.

RealMadrid vs Some Schlub Team
For the Huntley Red Raiders versus RealMadrid regular season rematch, it was second verse, same as the first. Will the teams hook up once more in the playoffs?

The Glou finish as top postseason seeds with a 99-63 record. Peak Pedro won the Triple Crown, going 25-4, with a 1.91 ERA and 259 strikeouts. He only struck batters out at an 8.8 per 9 clip, though, which is kinda disappointing
![]() Tony Gwynn won the batting crown, hitting .337. I completed the live Braves mission this week and am currently deciding whether Lonnie Smith should come into my lineup next season to replace Tommy Holmes...

Whuuuut! Playoff crapshoot strikes again!
I also got dumped out in the first round of playoffs. Which i'm quite happy with, to be honest. While Peak Pedro would give me a few more wins at perfect, he won't be enough to make me consistently competitive. So I'm happy to remain in diamond for now. Re my Lonnie Smith v Tommy Holmes dilemma, I decided to go back to 90OVR David Justice. Mediocre defense but a balanced bat vs RHP, which is what I'm primarily after. Holmes has been in the lineup every season since 2025 and has a career OPS+ of 107 in 27 seasons at perfect level, which is pretty decent for a low gold, but he's felt out of place in the lineup for the last two seasons. Who knows, maybe halfway through 2076 I'll be going back to him.

Speaking of playoff bug...the Frogs went 127-35 this week and finished 5 games behind the lefty-cheesing Westvleteren XII. We proceeded to get dumped in the Wild Card RNG event by the San Antonio Silver Sluggers.
We did poorly against Westvleteren all season, but went 2-1 in the one series where I actually used my 7-day lineups. Moral of the story? Check my lineups/schedule more often. To be fair, even when not spreading the cheddar that team is tough to beat.

The New York Flyers lost in the DS again. We did win the Wild Card game against the mac man's Warbirds.
Uncanny how many consecutive DSs I've lost in this current streak.
