Stadium Construction
Please someone, this is the feature I am dying to hear about - I never bought a golf sim unless it had course construction option.
Is the stadium construction feature in OOTP21 worth the cost of the game? Last edited by Cee-Man; 04-16-2020 at 11:09 PM. Reason: clarity |

The stadium builder is rudimentary. It'll improve over time, but it's bare bones at present.

The game is worth it without the capability in my opinion. The ability is neat, it's not perfect and has room to improve but it's not horrible either.
There are plenty of mods available to have any stadium you want; you could load an imagine of the guys playing on the moon if you were so inclined. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

But the current state of the 3D Ballpark Construction Kit is more of a teaser preview. It technically works, but it's hard or impossible to create even relatively simple, standard ballparks. I discussed this in another thread, but I couldn't do simple things like set the CF fence distance to 400'. It seemed stuck at 390'. Admittedly, I couldn't figure out how to make the fences look right either, until another user helped me out. I think it has a ton of potential, but in my opinion it's about 30-50% of where it needs to be to really be useful.

It also needs to be tied to finances.

It has some potential. It's very basic right now so I can't make enough unique stadiums for my 24 team fictional league. Other than some more elements added I think it would be neat if I could add the team logo to the field surface behind home plate. Other ideas.. ability to make my own billboards.. add team name or other text to top of dugouts.make hanging banners for when I inevitably win the division crown and championship series.

There should be the option to have it tied to finances in the situation where you have an existing league and a team wants to build a new stadium.
But there are countless ways I want to use the ballpark construction kit that have nothing to do with finances. I'd like to just be able to build models of existing ballparks for the dozens of fictional teams in my universe.

Would it be so difficult to program new stadium construction? Trigger is if your stadium revenues could be x percent higher over x years with a higher capacity stadium your owner gives you an attendance figure and you have the choice of retaining your old stadium 3d (calling it "new fenway" or something) picking one of the other existing 3ds or designing an own but the maths should be easy to add.

What would be a huge addition right now - even if fence options weren't changed for the moment - is to have each of the 5 outfield sections have more like 20-25 options instead of 5-6. That would give us enough to "at least" build 40-50 semi-unique ballparks.
