A player stuck in limbo

Hi, has anyone run into this situation? Player was DFA'ed..time expired and in order to be demoted to minors, player had to pass through waivers. So I placed the player on waivers but a few days later I am getting the message the DFA time ran out and player must be moved to waivers, released, etc.

All you have to do it just outright release him or place him on one of the minor league teams. Just right click on the name and then you can do this from the pop up box that appears

The game is working as intended. Waivers reset at the trade deadline.
