Problem Importing OOTP 20
I know I have successfully imported previous editions before, but having difficulty with today's purchase of OOTP 21 on my Mac. PLEASE realize I am a computer moron.
With OOTP 21, after clicking "Import OOTP 20" up pops "Select WORLD.DAT File from an OOTP 20 folder". I have located (with some difficulty) a "World.dat" file from OOTP 20. Not sure how to load/transfer this file onto OOTP 21. Multiple file choices appear in the OOTP21 box which appears requesting the "select WORLD.DAT File from an OOTP 20 folder", but I think these are all OOTP 21 files???? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Last edited by roadhouse; 03-22-2020 at 02:42 PM. Reason: additional info |

Okay, I did this a few days ago, but if I remember correctly, you just highlight the world.dat file that is in the popup. I remember being a little confused at the time, but I think the solution was right there in front of me. Literally.

Navigate to the OOTP20 saved folder and import the .dat from there

OK, not sure if you've solved your issue, but thought it worth posting for anyone else to reference as well. I had a similar problem and this is what I did. It ended up being a relatively straightforward workaround and - touch wood - seems to have worked OK. This is on a Mac using Catalina.
I keep what I call "Safe Haven" backups of my league as each season finishes. Just in case the world caves in. I copied the latest version of this - the entire .lg folder - into the OOTP21 folder. Then it should appear among the other folders on the pop-up and you can access the necessary world.dat file easily. Hope that helps. |
