Looking for guidance on setting up a historical league

So I want to play through baseball history from about 1905 or so through present. BUT, I want to expand that first year put a team in Vermont, and then continue expanding as time goes on while simulating real history. So basically doing a historical run-through just like normal, just as if Vermont always had a team. I still want historical rookies to enter the league as normal, and I still want minor leagues to expand as normal (obviously I would add my own levels at some point for my team as well).

Anyone know if this is possible?

You will end up with an odd number of teams if you add a team to either league. If you add two teams both leagues will have 9 teams and that is a problem too unless you move everything to a only one league. You may be better off renaming a team if you want. You will need to turn of automatically expand league too.

When you say "simulating real history," to what are you referring? Do you mean the rest of the teams relocated and expand as per history? What about player movement? Are you looking for historical transactions (except for, obviously, your Vermont and other fictional teams)?

I want to have historical transactions off, and I want the league to expand according history. I want historical rookies to come in when they do in real life. The only difference is that I want the Vermont team to be there whole time. Any time I've tried this my Vermont team disappears after one season.

You will need to manually expand the league then and turn off the Automatically Expand League option in the Historical menu.

So, for rookies, will his options be to either have them import as free agents (and then he can do with them what he wants), or to have them in a rookie draft?
