Completed first MLB draft
OK...finished first MLB draft, time to negotiate with draftees. Question...My first round pick is demanding $550,000, however, the slot amount is $3,300,000. He is a HS player who is extremely hard to sign, I don't want to lose him obviously. Will he sign for the demand price, or do I need to offer him slot money?
Reason I ask the question my other picks in rounds 2-5 are demanding right around slot money, so it seems to make sense, but with my first rounder far away from the slot, it made me scratch my head a bit. |

He will probably sign for around his demand. I'd offer his demand and go from there. Unless it's telling you it's your only chance to sign him, he's unlikely to break off negotiations even if he doesn't accept.
