How to handle swapping players on roster?

I finished all the NL collections last night and now I have 5 diamond corner outfielders plus Snider (and 5 are lefties zz). Is there benefit to keeping them all and swapping out the slumping ones or are all cards equal in that any one could do well at any time?

Basically, should I just trust the ratings or is there some sort of hidden factor driving production?

Swapping a slumping player for another one who might do okay, or even go on a hot streak, can be the difference in making the playoffs or not, or getting relegated or not. Myself I don't get too crazy with it, the most I will switch is like 1-3 players per real-life day.

But do the hot/cold streaks influence the algorithms at all or are they just a cosmetic representation of recent performance? If I could pick my favourite 2 or 3 of the bunch and sell the others it'd be cool but if benching guys and bringing the new ones in could give tangible improvements then I'll keep them

There is zero value in swapping out players midweek due to short term hitting slumps. If anything, swapping out slumping players will hurt your team’s performance because over time, player performance will revert to the mean, and benching underperforming players means you will lose out on the upside.

This all assumes that you have a method in place to identify and build optimal lineups, rather than relying on OVR ratings. There are massive performance differences in players at similar ratings levels, especially if you platoon or take into consideration defensive performance as well as offensive stats.
