What type of league are you playing in. It looks like there could have been multiple versions of this player created in your league. Can you please send both players histories.

Hello, I started this as a historical save from 1961, but wanted a "new history" for MLB so i have the yearly recalc on for the league, however all players are set to OOTP Development engine.

I am attaching histories, let me know if you need more.

I would also like any ideas on how to keep stats more realistic, after 2019 stats just completely blow up. I am using default everything.

Appreciate any help or ideas.

This made me chuckle... After 2019 stats just explode, looking for any ideas how to keep them down. I started in 1961 and things were fairly accurate until 2019 and then BOOM!

Saw the same thing when starting with 2020. I found re calculating the totals manually on the first day of the season drops the HR modifier by about 0.1 and fixes the big HR totals.

Do you use default settings? Or do you make any adjustments.

I don't think I'd even play. Fortunately, I don't have a desire to play as a franchise GM from 2020 onward. I've only seen this with franchisees in the future. To me, one of the most beautiful things about baseball is the average player stats are fairly constant across the board from year to year. There are always exceptions to every rule, but the broad view of the game doesn't change that drastically anymore. There are a lot of things that I find beautiful about baseball. But, it seems that every time someone posts a screenshot of a player in the future he has more home runs than at-bats, 47 triples by May, oh yeah, and he's 17 years old. That's not fun for me. A lot of people seem to love it and that's cool too. You paid for it, you play it how you like!

Well, yeah, people tend to post extreme cases.

He hit .348/.115/101 (OBP/ISO/wRC+) (.246/.348/.361 AVG/OBP/SLG) last year with 5 homers and 1.7 WAR in 97 games (of a 100 game season).

I'm expecting him to top those number this year since he's out of that sinking ship in Nezahualcoyotl. I'll probably take that franchise over in a few years and try and turn it around.

It has nothing to do with the year it's how you mange your league modifiers. You could set the league to be "frozen" at 1980 stats and play for hundreds of years with your stats outputting 1980 quality numbers. Or you could set them to 1950 numbers have them change incrementally each year and relieve 1950 to 2019 numbers but set your league to start in 2020.

What you are seeing is people who play with 2019 stats, don't manage their league modifiers and then after a while you'll see stats like this. I set my league frozen to 2019 stats and the league stats hover around these constants. That's just the way it works.

Thanks for letting me know how it really works.

Hmmm... My saved game started with the 1981 Yankees and I'm currently in 1986. I just ran through all of the minor leagues. None of them had Automatically Adjust League Totals Modifiers After Each Season For Accuracy enabled/checked on the Stats & AI tab. For the Majors, I did have it checked on the Historical tab, but I don't think it was enabled/checked on the Stats & AI tab either. Maybe I'm not understanding things (that wouldn't be the first time ) but it seems redundant. The minor leagues don't have a Historical tab, only the Major League does. I hope I haven't been playing with non-updated stuff.

If anyone is looking for me, I'll be over there ----> slamming my head against the wall.

This sounds like what I am looking for, I am fairly new to the game. How can i freeze the league modifiers to 2019? That would be fantastic!!

Appreciate the heads up on this!

do you mean just hitting the auto calc modifiers button or manually entering in your desired totals and then hitting auto calc?

All I do is hit the auto calc button manually. I don’t the change the totals as they are the same as the 2019 totals. I don’t know why the auto call modifiers check box isn’t maintaining them, but this is what my testing has shown. When you do it at the beginning of 2021 the home run modifier will drop from around 1.2 to 1.1 which is what it is at the beginning of 2020 in a brand new save.

I ran another test starting with the 2020 quick start. I turned off the check box to automatically adjust modifiers so they stay exactly the same every year as 2020. I ran it for 30 years and my season HR leader over that period was 61 and some but not too many 50 HR season.Trout ended up over 700 but the career leaderboards feel right to me. I can post that list if people want to see it.

It appears with no history for 2021 the modifiers get a little odd when auto adjusting. Not sure if this qualifies as a bug.

If the "automatically adjust league total modifiers for accuracy" checkbox is enabled, the modifiers will be recalculated during the preseason, before the final rosters are set for the coming season. I leave that box unchecked, and hit the "Auto-calc modifiers" button on opening day. This results in more stable and realistic stats.

I found that works well too but for testing and run longer sims turning off that check box has a similar impact. That also helps in case you forgot to hit the button on opening day and then get one crazy season.
