Unable to get Ohtani to be SP/DH in tournaments

Has anyone else run into this issue? I got Ohtani specifically to help in the tournament mode, but he won't ever start a game for me as a pitcher. I've put him in the 1 spot and the 2 spot in tournaments, and he's always set as the starting DH but I also have a backup DH to start in his place. In the last tournament I did, I took him out of the DH spot and the lineup altogether prior to what should have been his start, but he still didn't make his start and my team had a bullpen game instead. I've tried probably about 5-6 times now to get him to be a SP and DH to no avail. What am I doing wrong?

Have you right clicked on him? Set Game Strategy. Lower right corner scroll all the way down and check the Use as a Two Way Player Box.

New to OOTP, didn't even know that was a thing. That was the issue, thank you

I think you also have to change mode from adjust to team strategy settings to override team strategy settings
