Is there a way to turn off the "announcements" that sometimes pop up when I open the game.

it should have a dismiss this message box on the left hand side near the bottom

if you tick the box then you wont have a problem

I think he means he doesn’t want popups at all. When the message changes, it needs to be checked again.

oh well then its in the settings under the misc tab display latest news from OOTP make sure thats disabled then you wont get the popups
