Random Rookies from all Era's question
Ok - so I have done this in previous games, but for some reason I'm hitting a wall in OOTP21. I'm trying to set up a fictional league where Rookies from All Eras spawn in as time goes on. I'm not having an issue getting rookies into the game. However, I'm having trouble finding the right settings setting up under different league types, and I'm hoping for a little guidance on fixing them.
Attempt 1) Created historical league. This satisfied everything I wanted from the player standpoint, as I have access to the historical tab (League Settings -> Historical), which gives me the option on how to base pitcher stamina, potential, etc. and I effectively made all the teams fictional by randomizing cities and nicknames. However, I am unable to have the league auto-evolve for random expansion, strategy, etc. Could this be because I started in 2000, where the save is trying to follow historical guidelines to some degree?
Attempt 2) Created fictional league. Teams are all set up exactly how I want, and I am able to have the league auto evolve to my liking. However, the rookies I am getting are not bound by some of the adjustments you are able to use on the historical side (i.e. "adjust hitters with fewer than XX AB / adjust pitchers with fewer than XX IP). For example, I have pitchers with fairly small AB/PA sample sizes in real life, that come in and could be serviceable hitters.
Any thoughts to help me merge these two modes?
