Autosave frequency

Accidentally posted this in the OOTP 20 forum.

Is there any way to reduce the autosave frequency from once per year, or outright disable it?

Your options for that are once a year, once a month, once a week, and daily.

Cannot be disabled.

League Setup, Global Settings Tab, top right.

as much as you may think it's not needed in your game ... it can be a life saver on a crash while exiting. i have mine set to save once a month. takes about 30 seconds. it's a good thing, really.

Not if you're trying to run a test

The developers should REALLY allow the user to disable.

Even if there's like 5 pop ups asking if you really want to do this

Totally agree with this. I also have mine set for once a month.

Yeah this. I don't give a crap if I lose 10+ years of simming when doing a test. I do care that upwards of a third of the time it takes to sim 100 years is stuck on the save screen.

Also, it doesn't take 30 seconds once you're 50+ years into the game. It takes 2-3 minutes.
