OOTP Crashing When Sim Attempted.

Hey fellas, I checked through the FAQ, didn't find anything in there... maybe i missed it. apologies if i did :\

Okay, here's the situation. I was attempting to do one of the bi-weekly sims for WTS, and upon starting the sim process it would sim the first game, and then freeze up. I assumed this was a problem with incorrect lineups (players playing 2 spots, nobody in a spot, etc) but i checked the next several games and no teams had any problems. I auto'd lineups just to be safe, tried again and still, the game froze completely after the first game.

I'm nearing my wits end on this one... having only been using OOTP for about a month i'm still a bit unfamiliar with how to trouble shoot problems like this...

so please, any help would be appreciated.

Is this the first time since you purchased the game that this has happened?

i had it freeze on me a couple of times in the past, but both times it was due to roster errors, and after i fixed those it worked fine. never had it freeze anytime other than when simming.

Okay, there might be something wrong with an export that one of the owners sent you. One possibility might be a difference in versions being used (i.e. one owner might be using 5.12, and you are using 5.13). Not sure what else could be causing this.

It is, of course, possible that you just don't have enough RAM or HD space.

I think that may be the problem (I'm the one who sent in the lineup using 5.12).

But I downloaded 5.13, re-exported and it still froze. And it's not his computer because it froze on mine as well (for the first time ever).

I know you checked the linueps, but did you check all the pitching staffs as well? It's possible there are some holes in the starting rotation, or maybe some guy is inserted in the starting rotation twice, or something like that.

well... i didn't find out what the problem was... but i found a way around it.

i simmed each game on the day in question one at a time, individually, instead of using the Sim Day fuction, or Sim Week etc.

after that first day it allowed me to sim through a day or week normally... so i dont know what was wrong... but am pleased to announce that WTS isn't going to die due to technical problems
