That's pretty neat. Did you see the feature to record your own voice and have it able to kick out text to speech? Like wow.

Thanks for linking those videos guys. It definitely brought back some memories. It also reminded what I didn't like about the voiced PbP... tone and inflection never changes on the clips. For example the only have one clip of Allen saying "a high fly ball" and you will hear it exactly the same 10 times a game. That sameness begins to grate on you after a while.

You know what they say, "beware what you wish for". Voiced PbP sounds good but in the end it is recorded voice. You don't have a real live human doing this for you. Maybe I wouldn't like this as much as I thought.

On this subject, I was very impressed with Amazon's "Alexa"'s annunciation of 'Die Antwoord' the other day, despite her monotone way of speaking. Very clear.

With modern tech there's no reason to have only one clip of "a high fly ball". What they did back then with a DOS game was amazing. More amazing that OOTP isn't up to that yet.

Improved PbP would definitely expand on the immersion of the game. As was mentioned, there is a lot that can be done with technology these days and, hopefully, it wouldn't require too many resources to implement.

This is definitely one of the top things on my OOTP wishlist.

yes it is...but the text to speech is always off key with the action....like those voice tracks are off key in those old karate movies. you would think that in 21 attempts they could get it with the action. Action pc baseball had it right a long time ago...and that program is way way smaller....and you can even tweek the windows voice to pronounce stuff right. in short, they could care less about something 100 times more immersive than sloshing through 100 menus of meaningless fluff like who broke their leg this week in the minors. Unless you love spreadsheets as much as an accountant...the real immersion is in the game itself.

Ernie harwell's voice could make a baseball game immersive...if he talked about his dog for three fourths of the game. I would pay twice the game price just for that.....nuff said.

How about the stadium builder, let it wait?

The work they did on the draft, maybe next year?

After asking people to log 3d issues should they have left it as is, not smoothed it out, not added the follow the ball camera?

This year is no different than any other, IE they can only do so many things on the list. Some get done this year, some get left for future. Just because it didn't make the cut this year does not mean they don't take it seriously. What should they have left off so they could do pbp audio? How many posts would ask about the feature that was left off wondering why they don't take it seriously?

For my way of play I'd rather have professional audio pbp announcers than the stadium builder. I would imagine a large number of users would shout me down on this one Having said that I have no problem with the decision they me, I'll simply wait for next year or the year after that.
how about eliminating all the spreadsheet, unimmersive (except to accountants) menus and concentrate more on what immersion is all about....the action on the field and the sound. do you think people listening to a radio broadcast of a baseball game want to hear the signal fade away when a grand slam happens because the announcers spent too much time talking about the damn minor leagues? If regular people know how to replace windows 10 voices with a few clicks...then the developers of the game should be able to at least sync the windows voice better to the action....PDQ.....period.

I guess you should look back a few years ago, before this gui was introduced, to understand how much people wanted something more organized so they could easily sort out what was in the game.

Take a look at all of the praise for v21's additions of more ways to add any, almost all, of that info into views. You know those pesky menus.

Hate to tell you but you are at best about 5% of the player base. The game was\is built to give exactly that type of real world detail to both, those that play 'em out and those that sim. But according to you all of those that get immersed in the numbers, you know the user base, should just go away?

When they open a new "suggestion forum" please feel free to champion your cause to cut back on all of the things OOTP tracks. I'm sure you'll be supported by the masses.

Try "The Show" it will do exactly what you want. Give you a game to see the action as you play and it won't bore you with all of those pesky stats, player development, injuries, etc. etc. etc. Have fun
