Reading Scouting Reports / Second Division Starter?
In reading some of these reports, what does it mean when they refer to a player or prospect as a second division starter at shortstop or a first division third baseman.
Any help would be much appreciated! |

"Second division" is an old term to describe teams in the bottom half of the league. A "second division starter" describes a guy who can start for a mediocre team but not a good one.
