Archie's Blog
I have 6 teams running. For now, I am just listing the initial buy, which includes 2 gold packs in addition to the starter kit.
Berkshire Bees, manager Kit_Halley Golds - 89 Derrek Lee, a beast at 1B, 84 Art Shamsky, a pretty good bat, and 84 Ryan Pressly and 81 Joe Jimenez in the pen Silvers - 79 Tony Bernazard and 71 Isan Diaz at 2B (Diaz will DH) and 76 Miguel Andujar at 3B, batting 5th. The rest Rotation - 68 Framber Valdez, 65 Brad Keller, 61 Joe Ross, 57 Ken Holtzman and 57 Jorge Lopez. Looks like I'm going to have to outscore people. Middle Relief - 69 Brandon Workman, 69 Hansel Robles, 66 Kiko Calero, 64 Jesse Crain, 60 Kyle Ryan. Ryan looks like he'll be better than his 60 OVR might suggest. Lineup fillers - 68 Roger Bresnahan, 63 Bucky "Bleeping" Dent, 69 Khris Davis, and 68 Jason Heyward pretending he can play CF. Strategy - I can see all 4 of my Golds hanging onto roles for quite some time, for now Bernazard and Bresnahan will be asked to set the table for the big boppers so they can pile up PP's in the early going. I put this team into a HR or nothing park, and it's started off with a 9-6 mark. My weakest hitter is Isan Diaz, and I will replace him when I can find a high power guy with a good eye. There are some guys available in the AH, but they're all 1B and I don't want to lock myself into DHing a guy whose only position in the field is the same as my best player right now. West 35th Gumshoes, manager ArchieGoodwin
Golds - 89 Bruce Berenyi, 86 Doug Drabek, 81 Craig Kimbrel Silvers - 72 Tom Herr 2B, 75 Mark Belanger SS, 70 Nori Aoki RF Rotation - 60 Joe Orrell, 59 Nelson Briles, 59 Steven Brault Bullpen - 68 Marc Valdes, 61 Joe Klink, 60 Tyler Bashlor, and a bunch of cannon fodder. Lineup Fillers - 69 David Freitas, 69 Wil Myers, 60 Scott Livingstone, 68 Brian Goodwin, 62 Al Bumbry, and 62 Shin-Soo Choo Notable card - 66 Honus Wagner, still a 104 at SS. Look for him in the auction house soon, as this is his age 40 season. I put this team in an extreme pitching park. It's off to a 6-8 start, Berenyi and Briles are flourishing, Drabek is getting hit around a bit, and Orrell is getting killed. But there's no hurry to replace Orrell; I'd rather wait and buy a staff ace with my first purchase for this time. Last edited by rburgh; 03-20-2020 at 10:34 PM. Reason: update |

Manhattan Freelancers, manager Saul Panzer
Golds -89 Cliff Melton, 89 Derrek Lee, 83 George Hendrick Silvers - 71 Joe Borowski, 70 Jerry Grote, 71 Bobby Richardson Rotation - (Melton), 69 Dylan Cease, 59 Chris Stratton, 59 Hector Velazquez, 59 Sam Zoldak Middle Relief - 67 Rafael Montero, 62 Mike DeJean, 61 Dale Mohorcic, 61 James Pazos, 59 Touki Toussaint Lineup fillers - 65 Tommy Edman 3B, 62 Mike Fischlin SS, 59 Sam Hilliard LF, 64 Joe Orsulak RF 60 Cookie Lavagetto DH Strategy - who knows, looks like a good start of a pitching and defense team, but could go in many directions. I put this team in a high average, low power park and it's off to a 10-5 start. Melton has been lights out - 3-0 with a 1.27 ERA and 1.8 WAR in his first 4 starts. My first upgrade will be at DH, where Lavagetto is (not surprisingly) awful. My goal is to replace him with someone with a 90 contact rating and some gap power. There's nobody that fits that spec on the AH yet. Made my first AH purchase - bought Corey Seager as a tiny (57-55) defensive improvement at SS but the real reason was so that I could move Dunston to DH and send Lavagetto to the bench. Lavagetto was hitting .237/.340/.277 which is entirely unacceptable for a DH. Team is slightly over .500, so will probably be seeded into the Stone level. Central Park Pirates, manager Lily Rowan
Golds - 88 Kirby Yates, 87 Max Muncy 1B, 81 Kolten Wong 2B Silvers - 75 J.D. Davis 3B, 77 Billy Conigliaro LF, 71 Manuel Margot CF, 77 Lou Clinton RF Rotation - 68 Daniel Norris, 67 Curt Young, 60 Larry Jaster, 59 Rogelio Armenteros, 57 Glenn Sparkman Middle relief - 68 Jesse Orosco, 64 Paul Abbott, 61 John Schreiber and junk Lineup Fillers - Deivy Grullon C, Orlando Arcia SS, 66 Thad Bosley and 64 Edwin Rios platooning at DH Strategy - definitely a big HR hitting team. This team is also in a big power, low average park. And it's off to a flying start, at 12-3. The hitting star of the team, so far, is Lou Clinton. Say what? His line through 15 games is .359-6-20. Ah well, Tuffy Rhodes once hit 3 HR on opening day and 5 in the remaining 303 PA's the Cubs gave him that year. My first upgrade on this team is going to be at SS - Arcia has a .681 OPS at this level, and that's unacceptable for a SS with a 55 glove. I will be waiting a while until a quality SS shows up on the market. Last edited by rburgh; 03-20-2020 at 11:04 PM. |

Ontario Street Urchins , manager Lionel Cramer
Golds - 87 Corey Kluber, 80 Sid Hudson, 80 Spec Shea, 81 Andrelton Simmons Silvers - 78 Randy Tomlin, 77 David Hernandez, 76 Rich Garces, 73 Brandon Lowe Rotation - 5th starter is 65 Jason Marquis - this is a fine starting rotation to pull for your entry level team. Middle relief - 69 Ryne Stanek, 68 Jesse Orosco, 66 Brent Suter Lineup (ouch, it hurts to list these guys) - 65 Bob Boone, 59 Casey Kotchman, 68 Evan Longoria, 69 Ian Happ, 59 Michael Hermosillo, 61 Felix Jose, and 66 Eddie Moore at DH Strategy - play for the 1-0 win As I suspected, this team is bad. It's in a high average, low power park and several of my lower rated cards have gaudy batting averages without producing a lot of runs. The team is 15th in average, 21st in on-base, 39th in HR's and 33rd in runs. My first upgrade will probably be CF, so I will again have a long wait. Last edited by rburgh; 03-20-2020 at 11:12 PM. Montenegro Partisans, manager Nero Wolfe
Golds - 84 Kevin Gausman, 82 Bruce Kison, 84 Mike Crudale Silvers - 75 Larry Dierker, 70 Rob Wilfong 2B, 70 Starling Marte LF Rotation - besides Gausman, Kison, and Dierker, we have 69 Randy Dobnak and 62 Al Aber Bullpen - 68 Framber Valdez, 67 John Gant, 64 Jesse Crain, 61 David Weathers Lineup fillers - 64 Alex Jackson C, 67 Dan Driessen 1B, 65 Craig Wrthington 3B, 66 Larvell Blanks and 65 Stan Rojek SS, 65 Midre Cummings CF, 57 Jeffrey Leonard RF, 62 Fred Tenney DH Lots of work needed here too. This team is 9-6 in an extreme pitcher's park. My early upgrades are going to be to upgrade CF, SS, and 2B with solid defenders. Cummings is an 82 in CF, but he just won't hit in higher level leagues. In fact, he probably won't hit on Sunday in this league. And Rojek and Alberto are pretty much the same types - decent gloves and indecent bats. Team fell to 12-15 overnight. Jeffrey Leonard still stinks. So I looked in the AH and found Alex Verdugo for a buy now of 499. So I bought him. Leonard OVR's 62-51-4-53 Def 42 Arm 39 He was hitting .224/.274/.302. Ugh Verdugo OVR's 70-65-57-52 Def 76 Arm 81 In general, incremental updates like this are bad, but AV is also a solid LF and passable CF so I can carry him as a 4th OF for a long time. Summation
Mildly disappointed that I pulled no diamonds, but many of the golds should see me into at least the new Gold level. And I lie the chances of many of my live players to get rerated to higher classifications at some point.
A lot of my teams are pitching focused. Some of them will stay that way. |

How do you do multiple teams? Do you just have to create multiple ID's?

Yes
You get 3 per game license. The only catch is that you have to have discrete emails for each team. But that's easy enough to do. Have fun with your other teams. This is great fun for $80. As you can see, some of my teams are much better endowed than others.
