Weird Waiver Wire Antics
So, I’m not sure if I should post this in the bug forum, but, I’m noticing this happening a lot in my long term test sims.
In the off-season, I’m seeing a lot of veteran players signing 4+ year deals with organizations, and then immediately being placed and claimed by another team on waivers Most recent example is Jacob Degrom. He signed a 4 year, $36,300,000 contract with the nationals, was placed on waivers the next day and then claimed by Miami a day later . This is just the latest example but it happens with multiple vets every off season. Again, not sure I could label this a “bug”, but thought it deserved some attention. |

In my case it’s an inaugural draft where 3rd and 4th rounders were released by multiple teams directly after the inaugural draft. |

I've noticed similar issues; in my historical test league I see that Hal Newhouser was picked 2nd overall by the Cubs, signed for a large bonus...and then released a month later and then sign a minor league contract with the Braves.

I've seen the same thing. Yasiel Puig signed with the Padres within the first few days of the game and the next day, he was placed on waivers and put on the trade block.
