The Nats were in the middle of the NLCS when this joker decides to bail. He was on the playoff roster.

Yes, you are correct. He was still on the Roster the next few games. Still, why would a player announce he is retiring during the playoffs? Also, the message should be edited to say "at the end of the season"

different sport but Shayne Corson once retired in the middle of a playoff series for the Maple Leafs.
