My Experience as a GM

So thought I would try my hands at being a GM after playing as manager and GM. So i hired the best manager available. The Rays are my team and we ended up losing 8 out of the last 12, so I go back as manager an then I win the net couple, so i guess its settled I need to play both roles....I must micromange and cannot trust anyone with my baby LOL

Your sample size is way too small to draw any conclusions from.

Has your team ever gone 4-8 when you were managing?
If so, you should recognize that sometimes your team just goes 4-8.

As for myself, I know that I am a better, but not perfect, manager than the AI. I want to say that the average OOTP user probably is as well, but after reading people post here, I'm not sure that's true.

I don't want to bash the AI. That it's as good as it is, is remarkable. But there are some issues.

I run a few different sims. One of which is usually some sort of test I'm doing, for example using piggyback starters. I always manage these because the AI doesn't know how I want to use my pitchers.

In other sims, I never manage, despite some frustrations, because I feel it gives my team an unfair advantage.

It can be a challenge to take your hands off a bit and build a team around your manager's flaws instead of just controlling everything,
