Billy Hedges
Ah...Billy Hedges. A career minor leaguer who had a brief cup of coffee in the major leagues four seasons ago on one of the more dominant teams in my GBL's history. He recorded only two plate appearances at the big league level. Both were strike-outs. Played in one game on the last day of the season in an effort to prevent injuries to the team's starters prior to the playoffs. Now, forever immortalized by the OOTP hints bar as the team's "top rookie" during the historic campaign. LOVE IT!!!
I NOW have fond memories of Billy Hedges and his professional baseball career. He was named player of the week three times at the Low A, High A, and AAA levels of the minors. Was a playoff series MVP in the High A championship series in 2008 and has one World Championship Ring for his "contributions" to that 2009 big league club. Sadly, he retired at the end of the 2010 campaign never to sniff the majors again.
Billy, we hardly knew you...but thanks.
