if you complete one or the other plus one more of the owners goals you will be fine, I usually ignore this please sign him request tho it has back fired a time or 2.

That's rough...

I'd lock up Scherzer, then try to build a killer bullpen and short-hook everyone but Scherzer (assuming I can't afford decent quality in the rest of my rotation) and go 4-man whenever possible (lots of off days, around All-Star Break, etc.) to get as many IP out of Scherzer.

Offense...small ball guys are the "moneyball" of OOTP (unless they are awesome), imo. High contact, gap, av K, speed, defense, and play offense like it's 1970. A "Smallball" or "Unorthdox" manager with very aggressive offensive strats might be your best friend to win 4-2 type games.

Don't know if it would work, but that would be my plan.
