Removing a team
I'm doing a revised historical game where I keep Hamilton and Ottawa in the league, but in the late 30s I'm going to want to remove the Montreal Maroons and then a bit later the New York Americans.
Do I just delete them from league structure on a particular July 1st? Do all their players become free agents? |

What if I want to remove a whole league? I want to replicate the Western Hockey League folding in the mid-20s.

What historical leagues are playable besides NHL and WHA?

Not possible right now, you can't reduce a league below 2 teams. Manual league activation/deactivation is something we'd like to add, but it's going to be complicated - turning the WHL and WHA on/off requires a bunch of hardcoding right now. The closest you could come is go down to 2 teams and set the lowest roster size and schedule length possible.

That sounds like a good workaround. Will it continue to challenge for the Stanley Cup?

Thanks Jeff for the quick response. After 25-26 does the NHL respect WHL contracts? Can I grab good young players from their or have to wait for their contracts to expire?

It'll respect them as long as the WHL is around, so if you turn off evolution before 1926, the WHL-signed players won't be signable by NHL teams until their contracts expire.
