Black Screen for new 4.2 Download

I am running XP
AMD 2700
128 mb RAM
latest Directx
128 mb Invidia Graphics card
etc

All I get is a black screen. I re-installed, re-booted, and it hangs.

Update:

I downloaded the latest drivers and direct x to make sure and the black screen of death is still there.

How old is your monitor? What screen resolution are you running at? How much video memory do you have?

Monitor is 3 weeks old. 1024x768 res.

128mb video memory. Video card is 1 day old

Hmmmm...go into your OOTP folder and click on the "graphics setup", try toggling the options there and see if it changes things. I don't remember this being an issue before, we'll figure it out.

After I extracted, there are only 2 files in the directory:

OOTP4 Baseball, and an update 4.2 text.

When I double click on the baseball looking icon the screen flashes like its loading something, but hangs with only a cursor.

There are no other files or dlls.

Also, this is not being upgraded from any version. The total download for the game was 7-ish mb.
Seemed rather small.

If I didn't know any better, I'd think you only downloaded the update.

http://209.235.192.175/files/ootp/ootp4setup.exe is the full OOTP4.2 setup file, it's about 13megs. You shouldn't need to install the patch, either.

Or you could just go ahead and buy OOTP5.

Yeah, sounds like you don't have the entire game d/l or installed. The link above should provide that for you.

Thats what I've been thinking. When I paid my $$$ for OOTP4, it gave me the download automatically...OOTP might want to check into this.
