OOTP used to never crash - now it crashes all the time

Just venting here - I've played OOTP since 2001 and one thing I admired about the franchise was how stable to game was. It would freeze, lock up, or be buggy about 1-2x/year.

Since I got OOTP 20 two months ago, it's a different story. Seemingly 3-4 times/week (I play just about every day), the game freezes or outright quits to desktop. The most common offense is when I go to start the action, the play by play just goers blank and doesn't start. The tipping point for me was being in Game 7 of the WS with my 2019 Red Sox vs Giants (!), tied 4-4 after 9 and it outright crashes after a between innings pitching change. Back to Game 2 we go

Again just venting here. Hoping for real-time saving feature coming in OOTP 21.

What platform? My Mac version is stable as heck...
