That Gagne card's only long-term use is as a defensive sub. I doubt those batting ratings hold up all that well even at Iron level. Line drive batted ball profile probably helps, but...

47 contact (gross)
78 gap (ok, now we're getting somewhere)
45 power (eh, could do worse for a defensive whiz)
31 eye (yuck)
30 avoid K (there goes my lunch)

Sure, I could do one just to say I did one. But, I could also wait until...a later date...and pay a fraction of the cost. Maybe I miss out a little bit on the profiteering with these new special edition cards (who knows where the prices will stabilize as more and more are picked over in the AH?), but that's a risk I can deal with. Paying 1K PP for Tim Wakefield is not. lol

I'm mostly disappointed that I'm probably going to have to break apart my Future Legends team for the sake of keeping a competitive team, it looks like the prices on most of my next upgrades are going to be really high for a while. I doubt that their price will fully come down, so unless I'm really saving up for every upgrade it won't be possible to put together a better team, or even a complete roster of Futures. Kinda sad, but I'll hold out a little longer just to see if the market plummets again.

You don't need wakefield. yes the prices will drop eventually but that also means the selling price of cards you get from the pack will drop so it kinda evens out

special edition cards that aren't top top tier I don't see much value in but that's just me, maybe it's someone's favorite player they want to use

I am disappointed with collection missions for now. They aren't really accessible to poor folk like me and probably 60% of the playerbase (I'm pulling that number from thin air, of course). Most people don't have thousands lying around for extras. They barely have the money needed to improve their team. Not surprised.

But that's only my opinion. I thought as soon as they were announced that it's another case of the rich getting richer. I guess it's more of an endgame thing for someone who has 6 consecutive perfect titles and they're bored with the game, so it keeps them involved instead of quitting. So there's that.

My 2 cents.
I see some good for the F2P teams in that suddenly some Iron cards may be very valuable. I don't think the average F2P team is going to have much luck with completing many missions, but they may be able to score a bunch of PP selling mission-related cards that otherwise have no value.

That´s how I see it as well. I´m f2p and I have all of two missions completed, and those by accident. However I sold Manny Trillo for 2000pp, and a lot of irons in the 150-400 range. The trick is not to be too greedy where the price is actually more than the reward. Common sense, but I´ve seen folks doing that!

Dont forget that the a card can be used in more than one thing. Yeah it looks silly when one of the five cards needed for a standard pack sells for 1K, but that same card might also be a requirement for something much better

I've actually been able to complete a few missions now that prices have fallen a little bit to a level I'm more okay with. Hooray for me. I have tallest, switch hitters, power outage, and Z done so far.

Still hoping and praying that more than 1 or 2 Chien-Ming Wang cards will show up in the AH at the same time. The supply on this card is tighter than OPEC right now. Until that changes, it's going to be 24 hour auctions with no BINs that end up in the 5-10K range. Nope, not gonna do it. *Dana Carvey doing George H.W. Bush voice*

I can only really go for the Standard Pack missions right now, but opening those packs and getting more cards for other missions works pretty well
