Can't make the playoffs if you can't beat the teams ahead of you. 5-13 against the two current wildcard holders isn't going to get it done. Looking more and more like we're back to that middling irrelevance that I can't stand. Also, Steve Howe sucks. Don't buy him. Ever.

I pulled Keefe on day 1 on my money team and he's been my ace ever since. The first year in silver (skipping iron and bronze in that first wave of promotions) he had a 1.27 ERA. In the eight full seasons in Perfect before this current season he's averaged 7.3 WAR. I'd say Keefe is easily worth 250K, and I'd be surprised if he went for much less.

I started him at 50K. He is only worth what somebody is willing to pay. I'm hoping to get at least 200K for him, we shall see. I paid 6K for him, so i'll come out ahead no matter what.

I think I've been patient enough. Has not performed at all for 3+ seasons. Just time to move on from an ineffective pitcher. Some guys work out, and some don't. Howe didn't. I'm lucky I have guys like Jeff Russell and Mike Marshall who have. Think my team is suited towards more balanced relievers, considering Marshall has had a lot of success with me, so I went and picked up 2018 Unsung Hero Ryan Brasier. Has the balance needed to not be out of his depth.

I'm with you Magus. I have trouble "sticking it out" with someone longer than 2 or 3 seasons just because others had success with them. 2 or 3 seasons is no longer a small sample. If they can't play for 3 seasons at a low-ish level in the game they're not going to miraculously get better at higher levels.


And the Patriots have a strong chance for that wild card. Don't give up yet. I've seen you have some good 10-game runs. If you go 8-2 again you're right back in it.

I'm just trying to be realistic. If we can't win, there's no hope. Better to live in reality than to live in blind fantasy. The reality is that we suck and there's not much I can do about it right now except wait for Monday and reset my ballpark factors. What I did this week just didn't work.

One of these weeks we'll have a direction that isn't sideways and spinning out of control, crashing into anything and everything.
