Vlad Jr.'s live card

Just a question of why his live card has such high ratings and a 100 value? I thought live cards were supposed to be based on actual ML stats? Is his card gonna be majorly adjusted downward at some point?

Great question.... I feel like the hype was so great on him that the card got caught up in it. I'm not opposed to it even being a diamond, but perfect is too much.

I agree. It didn't really make any sense to start him at Perfect with no major league track record. I can usually find a justification for ratings on most cards, but this card made little sense. It was made worse when he didn't go down after a slow start, it makes it feel like he was a 110 or something overall when he started. His future legend card was already perfect, so I'm not sure why there was a need for this. Either way though it should even out in the end and hopefully he performs to a level that justifies a perfect rating, he's an exciting talent.

I hope it drops down soon, it is a beastly card that I want to use but would be much more comfortable getting it at 15K with upside to go back up than 28K and only downside

I have seen his swing... Not sure what you're getting at here... Is the implication that his swing won't equate to projections? If so, in which way?

Live cards are based on ZIPS ratings at the beginning of the year. The more real stats they have, the larger of the percentage the real stats will take effect in relation to the ZIPS projections. So the more at bats Guerrero gets, the more the ratings will come down (if he doesn't go nuts at the plate and rip the cover off the ball). That being said, given the ZIPS projections I saw for him, the ratings he got do look high so the hype and excitement may have entered in.

He started very slow (though a lot of that was abysmal babip) but has OPSed 950 over the past four weeks. If he stays at that rate I don't see the card dropping too much but I've been caught off guard at some movements before. for all we know it could show up at 96 monday.

1.255 OPS in the last 7 days - if he keeps that up he very well might stay as a 100
