Close! I got it for 25K first week and hesitated to buy it then bc I wasn't sure it was worth even that. It didn't have a purchase history when I got it so couldn't compare last 7 days, so it might've been the initial one sold, I dunno.

But yeh it's worth 25K no doubt, not sure about 190k tho.Still got it, 95% fully trained, 4.6 WAR right now.

I’ve found some historical perfects that seem to disappoint and have tanked in value in the AH (Peak Joe Morgan comes to mind first). But I’ve also found some diamonds that play like beasts - Eddie Collins and Carl Hubbell come to mind.

What has everyone else found? OH, and for the love, is there a decent performing catcher out there?
Not in particular, but I find not all 69-95s are created equally it seems, there are some standouts. You could get creative if you can't do mostly 97+s...imagine you had 25 100s on your roster and they were all 100 pitchers...J. Unknown would have to cover for you at all the positions. (Apparently in one case anyway, that's what happens when your roster is incomplete.)

And for that matter 96+s are quite different as well...I'd like to see that guy who had legs for arms and pitch him the 400+ innings he pitched in a single season...Jack something?

Anyway, look out for that, I kinda look at the value as their max potential value when utilized well. Most 100s are fairly or extremely spectacular so with lower cards the best is to find the right fits. (What role can they excel in on your David team?)

I simmed a game with the 88 Mets and the 09 Yankees and the lone run was a Gardner solo shot...I did an All-Star game with All-Stars from the best teams since 1942 and Jim Leyritz hit the game-winning HR.

You can't win them all against the outrageously good teams, but you can utilize the lower cards in an optimal way.

So strange... I just pulled an Eppa Rixey and saw that he's going for well over 300k. Like WTF?

I wonder if the market is still stabilizing and values are still inaccurate to a degree.

96 Ty Cobb has been one of the best players on my team.

Might not be a sneaky play, but I definitely feel like he might be a little underrated.

He's been super expensive every time I've seen him.

Dude the Eppa Rixey is most wanted. If you don't want it...well, you have some options.

Why is he so valuable? Is it just the balance across stuff, movement, and control? It's not like he's in the discussion for greatest pitcher of all time, so it can't be a lot of name recognition...

I was also lucky enough to pull Peak Carl Hubbell - is he really better than that?

I would think names have nothing to do with prices...it's all numbers. If Mario Mendoza has 100 contact and 100 power he'd be on my team.

Rixey was a tremendous pitcher in real baseball.

Agreed. I just think values in players like Peak Ruth are inflated a bit because of the name recognition.

There probably is an element of that, and also with maybe Yankees and Red Sox players...it's the human thing....

his price rose to 75 K

then someone sold one for 90.

then 100.

then it was up to 125 two weeks ago.

i scoffed at these valuations. then i pulled an ozzie 90.

so i ran with him in discord whale league. I wasn't that impressed with his bat for that price.

DaveyG also ran with him in discord whales league. and a third team.

all those teams did well. after Davey got knocked out of playoffs Sunday he decided to list Ozzie for 175. no one thought it would selll.

it did and rather quickly.

For 175 i was like I am going to sell. Made a private sale to a buyer who is still very happy with that Ozzie. Since it was a windfall sale, I ripped packs with proceeds.

I got another Ozzie that day in that batch of packs. I listed at 175 for 6 hr auction. It sold.

The third Ozzie owner in Discord league said wow I would like that much for my ozzie. He sold his.

Now one sold for 190 yesterday. Not sure who buyer/seller is.

But card is very much in vogue amongst whales and that will be price for now.

attached are the transaction records from my sale.

this has been the oral history of the Ozzie 90 bubble of OOTP 20.
Ha...thank youu, Ace.

Here's the top 20 single seasons for OPS in Perfect Leagues. Ten of the twenty are perfect Ruth. I don't think his value is inflated. I think he is under-valued.

I was lucky enough to pull him, and he has been by far the best pitcher on my staff for 8 years now.

Funny that that Eppa Rixey card is rated so highly and some say it's the best lefty in Perfect Team. He seems to have had a good career, although on the cusp of Hall of Fame worthy (he did make it in). His top season was 6.5 WAR which is great, but not legendary.

You would think other lefties like Lefty Grove, Warren Spahn, the Big Unit, Sandy Koufax, and Steve Carlton would have better cards. I guess the game isn't so kind to the best strikeout artists and rewards more all-around pitching, but even then...

I couldn't agree more.

Of all the players I've had Ruth is the one that has the most series MVP's and consistently comes through with clutch hits season after season,,, he is by far the best cleanup hitter in the game.

I have this card in 19 and he averages around 8 WAR a season in perfect leagues playing LF. .300 avg, .400 obp, 100+ runs, 100+ sb every season. Absolute beast and better then my 100 Babe Ruth and 100 Barry Bonds.
