Improvement on 3D match display?

I am planning to jump back to OOTP and grab 20. I only wanna play fictional league in this game and the big draw for me when coming back is the game display. I was happy when they started using pips moving around the bases and that for me made things much clearer. How huge of a leap is 20 from 19 in terms of 3D match display improvement and other quality of life stuff?

From my perspective, 20 isn't the quantum leap forward in terms of 3D that 19 was. But it does refine 3D to a great extent and makes it more and more enjoyable to watch games play out. And it is clear that the developers are very serious about continuing to refine and improve this area of the game.

In short, it just keeps getting better and better.

Yeah the jump from pips to figures really made me go wow and made me love watching the games. Are there any quality of life upgrades that were on recently? I just noticed 19 had the pitcher stamina meter and that made me go wow I can finally see how tired my pitcher is at that point.

I'm having a hard time thinking of anything off the top of my head that quite fits what you are asking about.
Of course, spray charts and exit velocity are great new additions, but not really about in-game 3D play.

For me the best improvements in-game are things like pitcher arm angles/delivery, ball flight paths, bunt play visuals, base-running improvements, catcher movements, paths outfielders take to get to flyballs, etc.

19 -> 20 huge increase in animation numbers. Makes the 3d more life like and more smooth.

Still far too many diving outfield plays and hardly any diving infield plays. Even worse, diving outfield plays are virtually always successful and the PBP makes it sound like it was a routine play more often than not.

It is a work in progress, for sure. (And, of course, many of those seeming diving outfield plays aren't in fact diving catches at all, but do still appear to be visually. So if the PBP makes it sound like it was a routine play, then in fact, it was.)

Constructive criticism always a good thing. But I think it's also good to applaud all of the forward progress and to acknowledge that the development team is clearly working tirelessly to continue these improvements, not just from iteration to iteration of the game, but within each iteration.

After converting my league from 19 into 20 I could never go back to watching 19's 3D over 20's. The mocap has really added a lot to the fluidness of the game and the improved ball flights is also a major improvement.

We have a whole thread in the beta group devoted to refining and fixing 3D issues so I'm sure it will continue to get even better as patches come.

The diving plays don't bother me as much. But I agree there are a lot. Sometimes it seems like at least a handful a game. I could see 1-2 a game.

I'm waiting for the SS flip to 2B and the pitcher flip to 1B instead of the full wind up and cannon throw at point blank range. That bothers me more cause it takes me out of it.
