This kid currently in single A for the Friars IRL has a bright future ahead of him, according to OOTP. Having a fun sim starting with the 19 Padres, about to start my 2027 season...

He won the Cy Young 4 years in a row! (2022-2025) Look at those stats. Just killer. Nothing absurdly an outlier just maybe the longest I've had a starter sustain that level of success! Usually someone gets injured for at least ONE season or falls off a cliff along the way...

He finally left arb so I did just have to sign him to a ~40m/yr extension for 5-7 years, so he'll probably go ahead and tear his UCL or whatever and ruin my life. But it's been a great run anyway.

Otherwise in 2027, Machado and Tatis Jr. have not disappointed one bit for the Pads... Wander Samuel Franco is a god, Lindor, Ohtani and Syndergaard still dominate, and Benintendi set a new record with an 8yr/$364m contract with the Braves (but kinda sucks now, lol)

The future is interesting indeed.

Oh and by the way, just posting this now because he lost the 2026 Cy Young voting by just 4 votes to some new kid on the Marlins who put up a 2.11 ERA. Almost a 5-peat.
